Description
A FLOOR TO CEILING MULLION STRUCTURE WITH HANGING PANELS TO REALIZE A DEMOUNTABLE PARTITION WALL.
The present invention relates to a floor to ceiling mullion structure with hangeable set of panels to realize demountable partition interspaced walls.
In prior art floor to ceiling mullion structure with fixable set of panels to realize demountable partition walls, are well known.
These utilize for fixing the respective panels to the mullion structure two different systems: screw means or clipping means. The drawbacks of the currently used solutions and of the abovementioned prior art are that:
- in the first solution, the setting-up and dismounting of the partition walls is very complicated and a lot of time to screw and unscrew the respective panels to the mullion structure, is required, - in the second solution clipping means are complicated and do not allow easy disassembling.
Furthermore all these solutions provide a single sandwich panel to realize the respective wall. That do not make easy to intorduce pipings, electric connections and so on inside. Other solutions provide wall structures being covered in the opposed surfaces with respective covering panels. This solutions being easy to place inside piping and line connections but only before covering,
disassembling being very difficult.
The invention as claimed is intended to provide a remedy to the abovementioned disadvantages. It solves the problem providing a fixable floor to ceiling mullion structures with hangeable set of panels to realize demountable partition interspaced walls, in which:
- said mullion structures comprise longitudinal opposed hanging transversal means;
- said panels comprinse along the respective vertical edges a plurality of othogonally oriented hooking means, to allow said panels be setted up in pairs in opposed hanging condition to the respective hanging means in said mullion structure means.
In the preferred embodiment said longitudinal opposed hanging transversal means are connected by an intermediate section.
In a further embodiment said longitudinal hanging means in said mullion structures are realized also in a respective intermediate section connecting said longitudinal opposed hanging transversal means.
In the preferred embodiment said hooking means in said panels are realized bending the metal sheet of the panel after the respective opposed edges is cold blanked to realize a lot of hooks in his vertical edges, insulating material being encased inside the respective bended sheet.
In a further preferred embodiment said panels enclose heating means. In one embodiment said mullion structure is formed by two "U" profiles, placed in such a way as to form an "H" and endowed with a set of pins, on which the respective opposed panels are hanged. In an alternative preferred embodiment said mullion structure is formed shaping a metal plate in two opposed rectangular tubular shape wherein hanging means by cold blank in the respective surfaces are realized. The advantages offered by this invention are mainly that:
- the wall structure set up is strong and affidable; - the wall is easy and fastly assembled and disassembled, allowing further easy inspection inside;
- in the interspace can be placed insulating materiales, heating means,
plumbings, pipings, electric lines, etc.
- doors and glazed panels can be assembled aqnd disassembled with the same systern.
- double panel with interspace allow best insulation and fire proof. One way of carrying out the invention is described in detail below with reference to drawings which illustrate some preferred embodiments, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the mullions structures setted-up with hanged panels and further two panels before assembling in opposed hanging condition;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of assembled equipped panels to realize a partition wall with 90° angular connection;
Figure 3 is an assonometric perspective view of a 90° panels junction one of this before assemnling; Figure 4 is a vertical transversal section of the wall visualizing the respective attachment floor to ceiling of the mullion structure, the lower panel details being further illustrated;
Figure 5 is a special mounting of the mullion to ceiling profile; Figure 6 is a vertical section of a panel detail with metal sheet surfaces and a profile for glazed frames;
Figure 7 is a plant view of mounted vertical mullions, having a metal sheet surface and coated inside with fire-proof resistant material;
Figure 8 is a side plant view of timber panel detail equipped with a metal edge, and from the other side, a profile with glazed panels, both of them set on the bullion;
Figure 9 is a plant view of same panels equipped at their sides with piled up edges with the least packing volume for transport; Figure 10 is a plant view of a corner wall assembling;
Figures 11, 12 and 13 are plant views of some particular setting up of mullions and panels.
Figure 1A is a front view of the improved mullion structure;
Figure 2A is a sectioned view in the horizontal plane of the mullion
structure with respective opposite hooked panels;
Figure 3A is a partial front perspective view of a respective panel edge.
According to figures 1 to 13, the wall construction utilizes "U" shaped profiles (1) and (2), the former attached to the ceiling and the latter to the floor, being against this ones fixed from floor to ceiling the double "U" mul lions (3).
In the double "U" mull ions structures (3) pin set (4) has been transversally inserted, on which the panels are hanged. Along the vertical sides opposed edges of the panels (5), press blank hooks (6) are obtained, for hanging the panels to the mullion structure.
Profiles (l) are attached to ceiling through extension screw means (7-3 and spring means 9, Figure 1,4), becoming integral to the mullion structure (3) in setting-up. The profiles (2) are placed to the floor and support the mullion structure through the screw (10), integral to mullions (3) and to the adjustable bolt (11). Said screws (7 and 10) may be applied at mullions sides. as shown by Figure 11, or in the middle of the two profiles as shown by Figures 12 and 13, so as to vary the space thickness between the panels according to need. Moreover, mullions (3) may be applied to the upper profiles (1) ( Figure 5) , through the two jutties ( 12) of the same profiles .
The panels (5), having a plated surface may be coated inside with plastered panels (13) or other fire-resistant material.
The space formed by the two panels may be filled of other sound and thermal insulating material (14) (Figure 3).
Moreover, in order to improve the resistance to fire, the panel edges (5) nay be arched as shown by Figure 7.
Panels are made of timber or coated chipwood core, of absestos or similar material and at their metal or plastic lateral edges (15) they may be hanged to pins (4), by means of respective hooking means (6), identical to panel hooking means described before (5).
To set up 90° walls (Figure 3) the panels have hooks (16) integrally
applied, to be fixed between the two mullion profiles (3). These hooks (16) are identical to hooks (6) of panels (5) and always applied to pins (4) by the same hook means.
The panels, with their lower end section may remain lightly lifted from the floor, as shown in detail (17) of Figure 4; or they may have a linoleum or similar floor angularly inserted, as shown by detail 18, for watertightness in bathrooms or closets, or gasketed, as shown by detail 19.
Glazed panels (20) (Figures 6 and 8) are applied to pins (4) by the same hook means, through shaped profile (21), and a set of hooks identical to panel ones is realized on its back edges.
Boors (22) (Figure 10) that may be of any kind, are set on mullions (3) through the shaped profile (23), acting as a door box, by the same hooking means.
A corner wall is also mounted by hooking its panels to mullion pins (3), through profile (16).
As shown by figures 1A,2A,3A, a modified mullion structure (3) is carried out through steel plate press shearing and blank-folding, so as to realize a double boxing (s), connected by means of an intermediate section (s'). Outside the respective boxing, several perforations will be realized (f) and also in the intermediate connection section (f'). The respective hanging means (4) are thus obtained.
The metal sheet panel (5) holds the internal stuck boxed plaster panel
(1") and the respective folded hooking edges has a lot of hooks, obtained through previous press blanking (6) before press folding. Said panels may be made of any material fit for the purpose and the hooks realized in the respective edges may have any convenient shape, without altering the protection field of the invention.
