Abstract
A reporting system protects a train on a first section (S) of railway track from a following train. The first section (S) incorporates an 'all clear' reporting section (A) located downstream of a reporter sensor (1.1) as seen in the direction of travel. Operation of the reporting sensor (1.1) is allowed by 'all clear' signals from one or more sections (A, B). The first reporting sensor is automatically released for operation in response to an 'all clear' signal from section A.
