Abstract

The lamp (1) has a two-part totally enclosed housing (2) with one or more lamp holders (3), in particular for fluorescent tubes (4). The housing includes a base (6) and a cover (7) which consists at least partly of light permeable material. The cover is secured to the base by quick release catches (9) and to least part of the base can also consist of light permeable material. Cover and base can be of the same material such as an unbreakable polycarbonate and can be one piece plastic components manufactured by an injection moulding process.
