Is Isolator geführt.

Current transformer for high voltage.
The parent patent no. 96449 relates to the use of insulation in the form of cylinder spark gaps for high-voltage current transformers. These have the very valuable property of being accessible to the calculation, so that one can determine with complete certainty how far the dimensions may be reduced in the interest of improving the transformer effect and making it cheaper without running the risk of the insulation breaking down. Other forms of failure range

There is also the advantage, as with the spark gap, of having metal coatings on both sides to limit the insulator, so that if sparks occur, the winding is not damaged, but only the metal shell is hit.
The advantage of the calculability of the field distribution is now used according to the invention in a way that leads to a significant simplification and cheaper in the construction of transducers. Since the exact mastery of the dimensions leads to a considerably tighter dimensioning of the

the dimensions is essential, an insulation material can be used again, which compared to the oil or the insulating compound a relatively low u. has about half the dielectric strength, namely air.
According to the invention, is it the high-voltage conductor of the current transformer through one or more cylinder spark gaps with air? Is insulator led. The execution is particularly simple if the winding to be isolated consists of a single straight conductor, so if a short circuit,; A safer single-line or bushing current converter is to be built.
If the rod forming the primary winding is round, the inner cylinder of the spark gap connected to the conductor is unnecessary; in an angular, z. B. square rod cross-section, however, the primary line must be surrounded with a cylindrical casing. The arrangement of the iron parts and the secondary winding is not affected by the execution of the insulation, so that one or more secondary windings and one or more iron cores can be used.
With the new design, the expensive oil or other insulating material, including all the inconveniences associated with handling and filling, is saved, in particular the container for holding the oil or another insulating compound to be filled in liquid. The entire transformer is simply divided into two parts that are to be installed separately, namely the primary line, which may be surrounded by an inner cylinder, and the outer cylinder with an iron core and secondary windings. This can not only be an advantage for assembly, but also simplifies the packaging.
1 shows an embodiment in longitudinal section. 1 is a rod-shaped, blue, square-wave conductor of round cross-section with flattened ends 6 for the line connections. This ladder should be thought of as rigidly attached at the ends. 2 is the annular iron core with the secondary winding 3, the attachment of which to strips 7 and 8 is indicated with the aid of screw bolts 9. 4 is a sheet metal cylinder with bent edges, which surrounds the primary conductor 1 at a certain distance.

gives. The spark gap is formed by this cylinder and the conductor so that these parts directly represent their electrodes.
In Fig. 2, the formation of the spark gap for a primary conductor 10 of square cross-section is shown in front view. This is then surrounded by a cylinder 11, which forms the inner electrode of the spark gap and, as in the example according to FIG. 1, is surrounded by the outer cylindrical electrode 4.
