Electrical conductor for high voltage.
In the case of insulated high-voltage conductors, z. B. form cavities between the dielectric and conductor by bending during laying, in which glow discharges occur, which over time lead to the destruction of the insulation of the conductor.
The invention eliminates this drawback. It consists in the fact that on the head z. B. a band of fiber is wound, which is in as close contact as possible with the insulation of the conductor and is made conductive on the side facing the conductor. The type of conductive material on the fiber belt is basically irrelevant. It can be a metallic coating or graphite or a similar material. Such a suitably elastic band has the advantage that it can follow all bends in the conductor both during manufacture and during laying without it becoming detached from the insulation. This completely rules out the formation of cavities in which glow discharges could occur.
The thin lead coating on the conductor used to reduce the field strength in rope-shaped conductors does not meet this requirement because it deforms when it is bent, so that voids are created between it and the insulation, which is precisely the purpose of the invention to avoid.
EMI1.1
1. Electrical conductor for high voltage, characterized in that it has a coating which is intimately connected to the insulation of the conductor and is conductive on the surface facing the conductor.
