Winding bar for electrical machines and apparatus.

The invention relates to a winding bar for electrical machines and apparatus, which is composed of conductor elements to reduce eddy current losses and current displacement losses. Up to now, such rods have either been assembled from relatively large partial conductors (synthetic rods), which, however, require expensive manufacturing processes, or conductors made from wire strands have been used which, however, have not proven themselves due to the imperfect insulation of the wires. According to the invention, the winding bars of the latter type are significantly improved in that they are composed of two or more wire strands separated from one another by insulating intermediate layers with insulated individual wires.

The advantage of this is a much greater durability of the wire insulation, because no extensive eddy current loops can arise in the winding bar even with local insulation weaknesses. The winding bar thus consists, for example, of several enamel wire strands that are separated from one another by intermediate layers of mica or the like. A local fault in a stranded wire remains limited to this, while with known stranded wires, a smaller fault can result in extensive destruction phenomena extending over the entire conductor due to the constantly increasing fault currents.

Instead of the enamel wire strands, those made of oxide wires can also be used, which should be understood to mean all wires which have been provided with an insulating layer on the surface due to a chemical change, preferably oxidized aluminum wires. A practical embodiment of the winding bar according to the invention consists in that enamel wire strands or oxide wire strands of approximately square or rectangular cross-section are alternately laid on top of one another with insulating intermediate layers (mica layers). This arrangement results in a good slot fill factor.
