metallsalze darstellen lassen.

let represent metal salts. Likewise, durable salts with an easily reducible base can be obtained from these acids if, according to patent no. 70ti, the acids obtained according to patent no. 5429 are oxidized and then neutralized with the corresponding base. In contrast to the oxidation products specified in German Patent No. 56401, these oxidized sulfonic acids and their salts are substances that are readily soluble in water.

The following examples may explain the process:
A solution of the acid prepared according to patent no. 5429 from sulfo-

heated for several hours on the water bath, then evaporated the brown solution to about 1 1 and with. Silver oxide neutralized. The filtered liquid is brought to dryness. the residue powdered and completely dried. The red-brown colored powder is easily soluble in water; it contains 330/0 silver and 1O / o sulfur.

Analogously to the example given in patent no. 7085, a mercury salt can also be obtained from the sulphonic acids in resin oil.

evaporated and dried and the residue powdered. The brown, hygroscopic powder contains 16% mercury and 3¸% ammonia.

. The salts spun by this process are particularly suitable as disinfectants.
