Process for the preparation of compounds of the diaminodioxyarsenobenzenes.

It has been found that the formaldehyde sulfoxylate compounds of the diaminodioxyarsenobe @@ ole described in the patent No. 60439. instead of, as described there, these compounds themselves can also be prepared from the nitrooxyarylarsenoids and nitrooxyarylarsenoxides or aminooxyarylarsinic acids and aminooxyarylarsenoxides. This process is of great practical importance because it makes the isolation of the easily changeable diaminodioxyarsenobenzenes superfluous and the production of the sulfoxylate compounds is simplified considerably
The procedure is then carried out in such a way that the nitro or

Aminooxyarylarsinic acids or the corresponding arsenic oxides are heated in aqueous solution with the amount of formaldehyde sulfoxylate or hydrosulfite and formaldehyde sulfoxylate necessary for the reduction and formation of the sulfoxylate derivatives.

For example: 1 part of nitroxybenzolaric acid is dissolved with 3.8 parts of 4% strength sodium hydroxide solution in 5 parts of water and heated with a solution of 2 parts of formaldehyde oxylate 1Il of 10 parts of water on a water bath. A yellow precipitate gradually forms. If
 EMI1.1
Heated gently for 1 to 2 hours. After cooling, it is acidified with dilute sulfuric acid and the new compound is filtered off.

An analogous procedure is followed when using an aminooxyarsinic acid or an aminooxyarsenic oxide instead of the nitrooxybenzolaric acid.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Modification of the process of the parent patent, then consisting in that instead of diaminodioxyarsenobenzene, nitro or aminooxyarylarsinic acids are reacted with formaldehyde sulfoxylate.
