Method for the representation of fights from Bornychloride.

It is known that fighting can be obtained by treating bornyl chloride with acid-releasing agents. According to the method of D.R.P. No. 205850, kampon is obtained in a yield of 96% by heating bornyl chloride with aniline.

The representation of fighting by heating bornyl chloride with soaps or fatty acid heavy metals, which gives only poor yields, is also known (D. R. P. No. 149791 and 185042).

It turned out that it is not necessary to use such expensive substances as aniline or fatty acid salts to convert the bornyl chloride in combat, because it was found that the salts of the resin acids also allow hydrogen chloride to be split off in almost quantitative yield. All the salts of the resin acids are equally suitable.
 EMI1.1
Flusskiihler melted and 68 g Bornyl chloride entered. After a further three hours of heating at 105, the struggle formed is exaggerated in a stream of steam. Yield 52.5 g of fighting = 98% of theory.

The residue remaining after the distillation is not, as one might suspect, to be regarded as a mixture of resin acid with sodium chloride, since it does not precipitate with silver nitrate solution. From this fact it must be concluded that the hydrochloride residue of bornyl chloride combines with resin acid salt to form a complex compound that does not split off any chlorine ions. This complex compound, for which an exact structural formula cannot currently be given, should be called a sodium resinate hydrochloride, in the event that sodium resinate, formed from the colophony and soda used, was used.
 EMI1.2
 Steam driven over.

The remaining residue, obtained in an anhydrous state, which should be referred to as copper resinate hydrochloride, is drained into molds and can be used for resinate paint production without further treatment. Yield 52.2 g of fighting = 97% of theory.
