Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Process for dyeing the silk black and weighing it down.
According to the process of the parent patent no. 75021, heavy black is dyed on silk in such a way that the usual addition of soap in the log wood bath is replaced by the cheaper water glass in the well-known swab dyeing and weighting of the silk with tin phosphate and log wood.
It has now also been found that the technical success is increased in several ways if you add some raffia soap to this blue wood water glass bath.
This additive makes it possible to enter the bath with the silk at a higher temperature than before, which saves time and wages.
Furthermore, the entry of the silk glue into the tin phosphate-hematoxylin-waterglass connection makes it much more difficult. Finally, the aniline dye required here for shading can be added to the new dye or dye. Difficulty bath can easily be added, since the elasticity of the silk fiber required for many articles is better than when working with water glass alone.
Where the cost point is not important, artificial bast soap or another substitute or normal soap (fatty soap) can be added instead of the bast soap.
It is also not excluded to use a second bath consisting of blue wood, soap and aniline dye or consisting of blue wood, soap, water glass and aniline dye, after the first blue wood water: glass soap bath.
There are no strict limits to the amount of raffia soap that can be added. Good results can be achieved, for example, by adding 100% liquid bast soap to raw silk.
