Electrically divided mast, tower part or the like for wireless telegraphy.

In wireless tetegraphy, it is known that subdivided masts or tower parts are used which are electrically isolated at the point of division. The invention creates a pressure-resistant and tensile-resistant connection of the insulated parts against large mechanical forces, specifically in the manner. that the insulator. which is usually made of porcelain. is not subject to any tensile stress.

The drawing shows the subject of the invention in vertical section.

Let a and b designate the parts of the mast or tower that are to be electrically isolated. namely by the porcelain body t 'inserted between them in a known manner. The parts a and b can have any cross-section. In which. In the embodiment of the drawing, however, they are intended to be cylindrical hollow or solid bodies. The insulating body c lies between two collars d. d1 of the mast parts a. b. it can be provided with centrically ground edge parts e1 for the purpose of easier centering. those in corresponding recesses
 EMI1.1
this results in a complete separation of the parts.

It's clear. that this type of arrangement creates a tensile and pressure-resistant rigid connection between parts a and b. without the insulator itself being subjected to tensile stress. the latter being spared in every respect, since they do not require any holes for the passage of connecting halls or the like, thus avoiding explosive effects due to ice formation. The space between the porcelain body e and part a is expediently filled with a feeler material. that prevents the ingress of water.

The upper cone e can be provided with a protective edge h. which directs the rainwater running down from the upper part of the mast to the outside and thus protects the lower parts of the connection from being drizzled and in this way increases the insulation capacity.
