Die beim Zielen bedingte kleine Kopfwendung verursacht eine Verstellung der Augen, derzufolge das zielende Auge 2'nur durch das Sehloch 10 sieht, während das andere Auge 2 ausser Bereich der Ausblicköffnung 3 gelangt und in den dunklen, von dem muschelförmigen Brillenflügel 1 gebildeten Hohlraum. schaut.
Dem zielenden, durch das Sehloch schauenden Auge erscheint sowohl das Ziel als auch das Korn und der Absatz gleich scharf und deutlich, so dass mit dieser Zielbrille eine äusserst genaues Zielen ermöglicht wird.
Ausserdem braucht das nichtzielende Auge während des Visierens nicht geschlossen werden.
Damit das zielende und hiebei verschobene Auge das Sehloch 10 in seiner wahren Grösse und nicht in der Gestalt einer Ellipse sieht, ist der rechte Brillenflügel 6 winkelförmig abgebogen.
