attached, on which resilient contact bars 26, which are insulated on the column 5 and into which the lines 27 open, grind when rotating. It is therefore possible, without interrupting the electrical connection or bringing it into disorder, to swivel the apparatus as often as desired and even to rotate it around the column axis as often as desired.

So that the user does not have to pay special attention to the fact that the device has the right direction towards his workplace and to make the movement of the device completely automatic towards this workplace, the two parts 8 and 9 are connected to one another by springs 28 which endeavoring to move part 9 closer to part 8, or in other words to stretch the scissors and move apparatus 1 away from column 5. To prevent this usually, a resilient pawl 29 is used, which engages with its nose 30 in the lower edge of the part 9 and prevents it from following the movement of the springs.

Two thumb rings 31 and 32, which are shown in plan in FIGS. 4 and 5, are now attached to the column J. Each of these rings, which are mutually adjustable and can be fixed on the column 5, has a thumb or a nose 33 and the spring pawl 29 also has a projection 34. If the scissors are rotated around the column 5, the spring link naturally follows this movement but not the thumb rings 31, 32 with their lugs 33. As soon as one of the lugs 33 comes into contact with the projection 34 of the spring link (FIG. 5), the spring pawl is brought into the dotted position shown in FIG. 1, the part 9 is released and the springs can take effect and move the apparatus in the direction of arrow I.

The ring in question must of course be set in such a way that it has the appropriate direction according to the user's workplace. There are two rings with two lugs 33 arranged so that the apparatus can be used by two people. The apparatus is shut down by simply pushing it back and turning it slightly, whereby the spring 29 again engages with its nose 30 under the part 9.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Holder for dictation machines and the like. Objects that are only used temporarily, connected to Nuremberg scissors pivotable about a vertical axis, characterized by thumb rings (31, 32) which are arranged in such a way that they lock the locking device (29) equipped with projections (34) ), which holds the 10 known way by springs extendable scissors in the contracted state, can trigger in a certain pivoting direction.
