Das Betriebsmittel wird fernerhin seitlich abgelenkt, um den Auspuff im stumpfen anstatt im rechten Winkel zu gestatten. Hiedurch wird der für die Wirkungsweise der Vorrichtung schädliche Rückdruck vermieden. Da ausserdem infolge der konkav-konvexen Ausbiegung die Oberfläche der Scheibe vergrössert ist, wird auch der Widerstand des Betriebsmittels und infolgedessen die Reibungskraft wesentlich erhöht.
Beachtung verdient auch die Tatsache, dass durch die symmetrische Anordnung der Scheiben mit Bezug auf eine vertikale Scheibe zu jeder Zeit eine Gleichrichtung des Laufrades bewirkt wird, da der auftretende Druck zu beiden Seiten der gleiche ist. Die tangentiale Anordnung der Speisekanäle vermeidet fernerhin das Auftreten eines seitlichen Druckes während des Eintrittes des Betriebsmittels. Ausserdem arbeitet die Vorrichtung gleich gut bei der einen oder entgegen- gesetzten Richtung.
Durch Vertauschen des Einlasses für das Betriebsmittel mit dem Auspuff kann die Vor- richtung als Pumpe für Wasser, Luft usw. benutzt werden.
