   Wenn die Vorrichtung in Gebrauch genommen werden soll, so wird sie zunächst umgekehrt. 



  Der   Schraubenstöpsel   3 wird dann losgeschraubt und der Behälter kann mit Flüssigkeit aufgefüllt werden. Wenn der Arbeiter die die in der Fig. 2 dargestellte Lage einnehmende Pfanne 8 unter Überwindung der Spannung der Feder 18 herabdrückt, so wird die Pfanne um ihren Berührungspunkt mit der Fläche 20 des Mundstückes als Mittelpunkt geschwungen, wobei sich das Kugelventil 17 durch sein Eigengewicht von seinem Sitz 15 entfernt. Die Flüssigkeit fliesst dann durch das Mundstück 9 in die Pfanne 8. Durch   Herabdrücken   der Pfanne 8 kann nur ein geringer Betrag von Flüssigkeit aus dem Behälter entnommen werden. Wenn die aus dem Behälter ausgetretene Flüssigkeit das untere Ende des Mundstückes 9   umspült,   so wird weiterer Zufluss der Flüssigkeit selbsttätig t nterbrochen.

   Nach Aufheben des auf die Pfanne 8 ausgeübten Druckes führt. die Feder 18 die Pfanne in wagerechte Lage zurück und das Kugelventil 17 wird wieder fest in seinen Sitz hineingepresst. 



   Wenn der Behälter schief gestellt wird, so hält die Feder 18 dennoch das Ventil 17 in seinem Sitz, so dass durch Veränderung der Lage des Behälters kein nennenswerter Betrag an Flüssigkeit aus dem letzteren austreten kann. Im Falle der Behälter überhitzt wird, so dass eine übermässige Verdunstung der in demselben enthaltenen Flüssigkeit stattfindet, so wird das Ventil 17 durch die Spannung der sich in dem Behälter ansammelnden Gase unter Überwindung der Spannung der Feder 18 geöffnet, ehe eine Explosion eintreten kann.

   If the container is tilted, the spring 18 still holds the valve 17 in its seat, so that by changing the position of the container no significant amount of liquid can escape from the latter. If the container is overheated, so that excessive evaporation of the liquid contained therein takes place, the valve 17 is opened by the tension of the gases accumulating in the container, overcoming the tension of the spring 18, before an explosion can occur.
