Verfahren zur Darstellung geruchloser Fettsäuren aus Tran.
Das nachstehend beschriebene Verfahren dient zur Erzeugung geruchloser Fettsäuren aus Tran. Während die bisher aus Tran gewonnenen Fettsäuren infolge anhaftenden oder nach längerer Zeit wiederkehrenden Geruches und geringer Härte nur zur Darstellung geringwertiger Seifen verwendet werden konnten, werden nach dem nachstehend beschriebenen Verfahren in äusserst ökonomischer Weise bleibend geruchlose und harte Fettsäuren erhalten, die in jeder Hinsicht geeignet erscheinen, als Ausgangsmaterial für gute, harte Seifen zu dienen.
Das Verfahren benutzt auch die bisher zur Tranreinigung angewandten Mittel, nämlich die Erhitzung bei gleichzeitigem Durchleiten von indifferenten Gasen, gegebenenfalls unter Anwendung eines Vakuums, wie dies z. B. in Jacobsen, Chem. techno Repertorium 1900. S. 135. angeführt wird und wird folgendermassen ausgeführt :
Die in üblicher Weise aus Tran dargestellten und vorgereinigten Fettsäuren werden in der Destillationsblase durch längere Zeit auf einer unmittelbar unter der Temperatur des Destillations- beginnes, d. i. bei 260 bis 280 liegenden Temperatur erhalten und gleichzeitig ein starker Strom indifferenten Gases durchgetrieben. Die Temperatur schwankt naturgemäss innerhalb dieser Grenzen je nach der Qualität bzw. Zusammensetzung der Tranfettsäure.
Der Gasstrom wird abgestellt, wenn die abziehenden Gase keine rächenden Substanzen und keine niederen Fettsäuren mehr aufweisen. Ist die Abwesenheit derartiger Stoffe festgest'llt, so wird die Temperatur gesteigert und die Destillation der Fettsäuren in bekannter Weise vorgenommen.

The process described below is used to produce odorless fatty acids from oil. While the fatty acids previously obtained from oil could only be used for the production of low-quality soaps due to the adhering or recurring odor and low hardness after a long period of time, the process described below yields hard, permanently odorless and hard fatty acids which appear suitable in every respect in an extremely economical manner to serve as the raw material for good, hard soaps.
The method also uses the means previously used for oil cleaning, namely heating with the simultaneous passage of inert gases, possibly using a vacuum, as is the case for. B. in Jacobsen, Chem. Techno Repertorium 1900. S. 135. is listed and is carried out as follows:
The pre-purified fatty acids prepared in the usual way from oil are stored in the distillation still for a long time at a temperature just below the temperature of the start of the distillation, i.e. i. obtained at 260 to 280 lying temperature and at the same time a strong stream of inert gas driven through. The temperature naturally fluctuates within these limits depending on the quality or composition of the trans-fatty acid.
The gas flow is shut off when the exhausting gases no longer contain any avenging substances or lower fatty acids. Once the absence of such substances has been established, the temperature is increased and the fatty acids are distilled in a known manner.
