Copper kettle 11 / fi heated with indirect steam for up to 2 hours. About 750 g of condensation product are obtained and 250 g of phenol 900/0 are added while hot.

Color for gold p r u c k: In 650 of the above condensation product, one gradually pastes: 350 g of the finest bronze powder (e.g. pale gold line).

The idea was also pursued to fix acidic dyes by introducing basic groups into the condensation product. It has been possible to achieve very satisfactory results in this regard by adding ammonia and aromatic amines, as explained below.

As a result of its insolubility in water, the aforementioned reaction mixture cannot be used in the usual aqueous printing or pad inks.

It has now been possible to introduce the components of these condensation products into the colors in such a way that their condensation and thus the fixation of the dye only takes place during subsequent steaming on the fiber.

The combination of formaldehyde with resorcinol has proven to be particularly beneficial in this regard.

A paint that contains formaldehyde, resorcinol and dye in addition to a common thickener produces an excellent, soap-proof print after steaming.
 EMI2.1
Take advantage of the fact that the prints are significantly more extensive and washfast and that the bleeding of the dyes is prevented.

The free formaldehyde can be successfully replaced in certain colors by bisulfite formaldehyde.

Amidated condensation products are formed in an analogous manner on the fiber if the paints containing formaldehyde and phenols are ammonia, aromatic amines, etc. B. formaldehyde aniline, hexamethylenetetramine, etc. are added.

It was successful after this procedure. fix pure dyes / u on hair wool, the use of which was limited exclusively to animal fibers.
