Card punching and copying device for embroidery machines.
The present invention arose from the endeavor to simplify the construction of the card punching and copying devices for embroidery machines as much as possible, on the one hand to avoid the inaccuracies and errors resulting from the mass of the vibrating parts, their wear, friction and connection by reducing the mass on the other hand, in order to simplify the work of the card racket which adjusts the adjustment members by hand as much as possible. This simplification results in an extremely smooth gait, easy handling and, above all, extremely beautiful goods, because the beauty of the goods also depends on the simplicity of the striking device or on its easier and therefore more precise handling.
According to the invention, a carrier for rams that can be moved in a straight line is mounted in a punch carrier so that it can be moved back and forth in a straight line. The carrier is clocked to adjust the plunger against the adjusting elements, z. B. one drum or setting slide and driven in a certain position with the punch carrier at right angles to the setting movement of the ram carrier against the paper to be punched.

T and TI are each one of two drums of a two-stroke card
EMI1.2
and one has to imagine the drums for the horizontal movement components sitting on the same axes behind them. Wound W1 are the paper transport rollers for the card strip K. M is the die over which the cardboard strip runs, a is a punch carrier which carries the punch b in a loosely displaceable manner. The punch carrier a can only be moved in the vertical direction by the cam c. d is a ram carrier which carries the ram e. A lever h rotatably engages the plunger carrier d, which
EMI1.3
the ram carrier d is shifted horizontally back and forth cyclically.
This device works as follows:
After the two drums 7 'have been set according to the desired stitch lengths, the ram carrier d with the rams e is moved to the left by the cam 1'
EMI1.4
The same working cycle then takes place by means of the drums Tl. If, on the other hand, the ram e does not find a hole in the drum, it is adjusted to the ram carrier.
During the displacement of the ram support that then takes place, the recess x comes to rest over the punch or the punch b (FIG. 4). During the vertical movement of the punch carrier a, this punch b stands loosely on the card and there is no perforation, since the head of the punch b can enter the recess x.
The same device can be used for single-stroke or multi-stroke striking devices. In the construction shown, the drums T and the cams f or Tl and fl and k will be omitted, as will slot z or x. In this case, the plungers f become one-sided.
