EMI1.1
The present invention relates to a device for the extermination of pests with sulphurous acid, in which the sulphurous acid is produced in a boiler which is connected by a pipe to a fan. The invention consists in that the blower is formed from a hollow body to which a bellows provided with a handle is connected on both sides.
The drawing illustrates the subject matter of the invention in an exemplary embodiment, namely FIGS. 1 and 2 show two longitudinal sections through the entire device at right angles to one another, with partial views. A boiler 1 of cylindrical or other shape carries a grate 2 and an end cap at the bottom 3 with a tubular extension 4, which directly or by means of a flexible

Lid 5, from which a longer but relatively thin tube 6 communicates with the boiler. This tube carries a hollow body 7 (transverse cylinder), on both sides of which a bellows 8 with a handle 9 is attached. An air suction valve 10 is also arranged on the hollow body 7.
The boiler J was detachably connected to the tube 6 by means of a bracket 12 articulated on the boiler and engaging over a curved nose 11 of the tube, whereby the cover 5 is pressed against the boiler at the same time and this is thereby sealed.
The procedure for operating this apparatus is as follows: With the cover 5 removed, the kettle is filled with glowing coal or the like, whereupon sulfur powder is introduced above. By pulling up the bellows towards the direction of the pipe, air is sucked in and this is fo! Low compression of the bellows fed to the boiler. This pressing in of the air enables the sulfur to be burned and thereby the formation of sulphurous acid as well as the discharge of this toxic gas through the grate 2 and extension 4 into the holes in the ground. The advantages of the device described consist, in addition to the less damaging effect of heat and gases on the bellows, in the more convenient and uniform lateral handling of the bellows.
By means of the device described, sulfurous acid can also be used for other purposes a! s are produced and derived to destroy harmful animals.
