Method and device for the production of mica sheets.
It is known to produce mica plates from numerous individual plates by picking up the plates by means of a sieve or the like under the action of suction air and allowing them to fall onto the mica tape provided with adhesive. It has also been proposed that the mica platelets be supplied by a blower.
Both methods alone do not allow the mica platelets to settle evenly onto the adhesive tape. Finally, the procedure is also that the mica platelets are sucked onto a suction surface and then pressed against the adhesive underlay together with the latter, removing the suction, which was done either intermittently by moving the suction surface back and forth or continuously by means of a surrounding mesh.
However, pressing the suction surface against the adhesive backing results in smearing of the suction surface, even if, as was suggested when using a circumferential mesh, the adhesive is only applied afterwards, since the mesh always picks up some of the adhesive its circulation in the area of the suction surface brings. According to the invention, a completely even deposit of the mica platelets without smearing the suction surface is achieved in that they are picked up with the aid of suction air, but are released at the point of need by means of compressed air, naturally touching the
Sieve surface with the mica tape is avoided.
To carry out this process, it is advisable to use a circumferential hollow cylinder with sieve holes, from which the mica platelets are picked up by suction air, brought to the belt that is passed and, at a suitable moment, pressed off and against the belt using compressed air.
For this purpose, a suction chamber and a compressed air chamber are provided in the hollow cylinder, which are open towards the screen cylinder and of which the former acts as a suction air chamber from the receiving point of the mica platelets to close to the glue point and the chamber adjoining this in the direction of rotation for a short time Line acts as a compressed air chamber.
