Fenster.

Window.
The object of the present invention is a device on windows to protect the wooden components of the windows, in particular the lower strips of the sash and the frame, from the effects of the weather, because precisely these components will soon perish because the wood is still used immature .
In the drawing the object of the invention is illustrated, namely Fig. 1 shows a lower corner of a window according to the old systems; Fig. 2 is a section along 7 / II; Fig. 3 shows a lower corner of a window; Fig. 4 is a section along ZF-VF; Fig. 5 shows another embodiment.
At the joint 4 between the lower strips 5 and 6 of the frame and the window sash, two angled sheet metal strips B and C (Fig. 1, 2) are arranged, which rest resiliently close to one another when the window is closed. The sheet metal strip B is nailed to the frame strip 5; its horizontal arm is extended behind the front edge over the upper surface of the frame strip; the vertical arm is extended to the cornice and forms a drip rail. The sheet metal strip C is attached to the window sash molding 6: it extends with its vertical arms into the glass rebate and protrudes with its horizontal arm the lower sheet metal strip B and forms a drip strip for the window sash.
With this device, the lower strips remain permanent, as they are completely protected from the effects of the weather, because the wind blowing in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 2) hits the metal strip B and cannot penetrate into the joint 4: and through the The wind cannot penetrate the joint between the two arches because the sheet metal strips are always close to one another. The device shown in FIGS. And 4 differs from the one described in that the horizontal arm of the sheet metal strip ('is still bent under the window sash molding o.
According to Fig. 5 is instead of the bent sheet metal strip B on the
Railing strip 5 attached to a sheet metal gutter D; one edge of the same is nailed to the upper surface of the frame strip and the other edge rests on the horizontal part of the sheet metal strip C, which, incidentally, is constructed in the same way as in Fig. 4. Some openings are provided at the lowest point through which any liquid that has penetrated into the space between the metal strips can drain. Otherwise the channel completely fulfills the task of the lower sheet metal strip B.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Window, characterized in that the lower joints 4 on the frame. 5 and on the wings 6 at right angles bent sheet metal strips collar 0 are arranged, which are attached with their vertical parts to the vertical surfaces of the frame and the wing and abut one another with their horizontal parts (Fig. 2 and 4).
