In einer speziell angefertigten Vorrichtung werden die so ummantelten Eier einem ersten Rohschliff unterzogen. Danach wird Füllmasse aus einem speziellen Kitt und jenem Staub des Materials mit dem das Ei ummantelt ist auf das Ei gleichmäßig aufgetragen um Unregelmäßigkeiten der Ummantelung aufzufüllen. Nach einer 24-stündigen Wartezeit wird das Ei wieder in die Spezialvorrichtung eingespannt und zuerst grob- und hernach feingeschliffen.
