<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
In diesem Ausführungsbeispiel verläuft
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
EMI9.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
B. in Spritzgussverfahren, herzustellen.

are written.
There are already vacuum pumps, e.g. B. single-stage liquid ring gas pumps known, for example, the ELMO-F vacuum pumps from Siemens. These gas pumps have a cylindrical pump housing in which an impeller rotates. The axis of rotation of the impeller is offset by a distance from the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical pump housing. An outer diameter of the impeller is twice this distance smaller than an inner diameter of the pump housing. The chambers formed between the individual vanes of the impeller are opened on the front side facing an end wall of the pump housing oriented perpendicular to the axis of rotation and are closed at least over part of their length on the rear side opposite this by means of an end wall.
An inlet and outlet for the mixture of air and liquid are provided in the end wall of the pump housing facing the open end faces of the chambers. A base area of the chambers between the vanes can usually be formed to be concave, rising from the front in the direction of an outer edge of the end wall, and have a cross-sectional shape that is, for example, parabolic in cross-section in a plane parallel to the axis of rotation.
The disadvantage here is that when the gas pump is operated with a higher proportion of solid particles, the wall of the pump housing is worn through after a relatively short period of operation. The liquid of the liquid ring then passes through these chafing points. to the outside and proper operation of the gas pump as a vacuum pump is no longer possible.
The present invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus which enables a longer service life of the pump housing even with mixtures of air and liquid contaminated with solid particles.

EMI2.2
Back wall is deflected so that the flow is directed obliquely to the inner wall of the pump housing or in the direction of the inlet and outlet, the solid particles possibly contained in the mixture of air and liquid impinge obliquely on the inner wall of the pump housing. This reduces the impact energy and also reduces the abrasion caused.
In addition, the solid particles due to the flow built up in the liquid in the direction of the outlet in the
Back wall facing away from the front wall of the pump housing can be moved and thus rather be flushed out by the air stream emerging from the interior through the outlet or possibly with an excess liquid from the interior through the outlet.
As a result, the proportion of solid particles that rotate in the liquid ring in the interior of the pump housing and act in the manner of an abrasive is reduced in a surprisingly simple and unpredictable manner, and cavitation and, ultimately, destruction of the pump housing, in particular in the transition area between the rear wall and the The casing of the pump housing is reliably prevented.

Due to an arrangement eccentrically offset by a distance 18 from the longitudinal axis 4 of an axis of rotation 19 of an impeller 20 serving as an impeller with a plurality of circumferentially arranged vanes 21, 22 which enclose chambers 23, 24 between them, that of a motor 25 drive power transmitted via the drive shaft 26 to the impeller 20 are transferred to the liquid ring 17 in the interior 13 of the pump housing 2. When the gas pump 1 is started up, due to the eccentric arrangement of the impeller 20 in the interior 13 of the pump housing 2, the liquid ring 17 arranged concentrically to the casing 3 is built up.
During the movement of the liquid ring 17 outwards, that is to say away from the axis of rotation 19 and specifically over an angular range 27, the air 11 is sucked out of the inlet 15 into the chambers 23, 24 arranged between the vanes 21, 22. When the liquid ring 17 approaches in the direction of the axis of rotation 19, the air 11 is compressed over the angular range 28 adjoining the angular range 27 and pressed out of the chambers 23, 24 via the flap valves or the control slots arranged in the outlets 29 and via the outlet connection 9 dissipated.
Due to the liquid ring required for the proper operation of the gas pump 1
17 to dissipate the heat of compression and the gap between the impeller 20 and
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
has to seal the inner jacket 16, the liquid 12 of the liquid ring 17 must be continuously supplemented or exchanged to a certain extent.
If the gas pump 1 is now used to produce a vacuum in the area of production machines, for example for calibration tables in extrusion systems which work under vacuum, there is always the risk that solid particles 14 with the mixture of liquid 12 and air 11 enter the interior 13 of the gas pump 1 can be sucked in.
. These solid particles 14 are then introduced into the liquid ring 17 and rotate with the liquid ring 17 in the interior 13 of the gas pump 1. This can result in the presence of stronger impurities or solid particles 14 with a higher hardness than the pump housing 2 by the one exerted on the liquid ring 17 Grinding effect, kind of
Abrasive powder, the inner jacket 16 wears very badly. In many cases, this leads to the fact that in a transition region 30 between the rear wall 5 and the casing 3, the casing 3 is hollowed out or ground through and the pump housing 2 thus leaks.
This damage should also be attributed above all to the fact that the smallest distance 31 between the axis of rotation 19 or the drive shaft 26 of the impeller 20 and the inner casing 16 is only slight, eg. B. is in the range of 0.2 to 5 mm larger than that
Half of an outer diameter 32 of an end edge 33 of the impeller 20 enveloping - indicated in FIG. 2 by a dash-dotted line - enveloping circle 34. This means that the outer diameter 32 of the enveloping circle 34 of the impeller 20 is thus slightly smaller than an inner diameter 35 of the inner shell 16 minus the distance 18 between the axis of rotation 19 and the longitudinal axis 4 of the inner jacket 16.
The chambers 23, 24 between the vanes 21, 22 have a base area 36 which rises from a front side 37 facing the end wall 6 in an approximately parabolic or hyperbolic manner towards a rear side 38 of the impeller 20. The base area 36 can extend up to the leading edge 33 of the wings 21, 22 or end at a distance in front of it.
This course of the base area 36 can result in larger solid particles
14 up on the base 36 and due to the approximately parabolic shape of the
Base 36 are ejected in the direction of the transition region 30 between the inner jacket 16 and the rear wall 5 and impact there. This increases the load or abrasion in this area of the gas pump 1.
In order to avoid this increased wear, in particular in the transition region 30,
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
now provided that a guide body 39 is arranged in this transition region 30. This guide body 39 consists of a ring 40, which has an approximately triangular cross-section. As can be seen better from FIG. 4, the two side walls 41, 42 forming the catheters rest on the inner jacket 16 or the rear wall 5 and form the hypotenuse, ie the surface facing the interior 13, a guide surface 43. An angle 44 between the side wall 42 and the guide surface 43 is less than 90, preferably 45.
4, this guide body 39 with the inclined guide surface 43 causes solid particles 14 which may be flung away from the impeller 20 to impinge on the oblique guide surface 43, as symbolically indicated by the arrow 45, and laterally, that is, at an angle to the inner jacket 16, according to the arrow 46. Likewise, the liquid ring 17 rotating in the interior 13 is constantly deflected by the inclined guide surface 43 in the direction of the inlet and outlet 15 or 29, so that the liquid ring 17 contained solid particles 14 in
Direction of inlet and outlet 15 or
29 are accelerated and thus there is more of a possibility that they contain an excess amount of liquid 12 which is necessary for the build-up of the
Liquid ring 17 is not required to be removed through the outlet 29.
As a result, the overall wear in the pump housing 2 is reduced and thus the wear
Service life of a gas pump 1 designed in this way is considerably improved.
As can also be seen from the illustration in FIG. 5, is by the circumferential
Arrangement of the guide body 39 with the guide surface 43 in the transition region 30 of the casing 3 also requires an adaptation of the cross-sectional shape of the individual vanes 21, 22 of the impeller 20 in a cross-sectional plane 47 running radially through the longitudinal axis 4 - indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 2 - required. This cross-sectional plane 47 is further arranged such that in this cross-sectional plane 47 the shortest radial connection extends over a distance 48 between the axis of rotation 19 and the inner jacket 16.
As can be seen from the illustration in Fig. 5, the wings 21, 22 have between the
Rear side 38 and the front edge 33 have a transition surface 49, which runs in a straight line, however, between the rear side 38 and an extension of the transition surface 49 projecting beyond this rear side 38 at an angle of inclination 50 which corresponds to the angle 44 between the guide surface 43 and the rear wall 5 . In this embodiment runs
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
thus the guide surface 43 parallel to the transition surface 49.
It is thus also possible in the area of the guide body 39 to maintain a small distance 51 between the impeller 20 and the inner casing 16 - as can also be seen in FIG. 2 - and the arrangement of the guide body 39 therefore does not reduce or reduce the power of the gas pump. their funding characteristics have not changed.
6 shows another embodiment variant of a transition surface 49 in the corner region of a wing 21 of an impeller 20 between the rear side 38 and the leading edge 33, and of the transition region 30 in the pump housing 2 of a gas pump 1.
In this exemplary embodiment, the transition region 30 connects the rear wall 5 in one piece to the casing 3 of the pump housing 2, that is to say is integrated into the molded part of the pump housing 2. In order to allow lateral deflection of solid particles 14 which are approximately perpendicular to the inner jacket 16, the transition region 30 is curved and thus the guide surface 43 is concave, a radius of curvature 52 of the guide surface 43 being greater than 15 mm.
Accordingly, in this exemplary embodiment as well, the transition surface 49 opposite the guide surface 43, as drawn with dash-dotted lines, can be used with a
Guide surface 43 be complementary, convex curvature and either have the same or a radius of curvature 52 smaller by the distance 51 between the transition surface 49 and the guide surface 43.
In order to show that, due to the slight changes in the pump characteristics, an exactly complementary design of the transition surface 49 with respect to the guide surface 43 is not always necessary, the transition surface 49 is provided with a polygonal contour, for example, as drawn with full lines. However, it is also possible, for example, for the transition region 30 to be designed as shown in FIG. 5.
In any case, it only has to be ensured that the outer envelope of the impeller 20, in particular in the transition region 30, always runs within the cavity predetermined by the guide surface 43 or by the pump housing 2, so that the
Impeller 20 or its wings 21,22 on the inner jacket 16 is avoided.
Of course, it is advantageous for the performance of the gas pump 1 if the
Distance 51 is extremely small since the loss of drive energy during the transmission from the wings 21, 22 to the liquid ring 17 can thus be kept small.
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
Another embodiment variant to avoid a vertical impact from
Solid particles 14 on the inner jacket 16 are shown in FIG. 7. For this purpose, on the rear wall 5 facing the rear 38 of the impeller 20 on its front edges 33 the wing
21, 22 facing end regions, a guide extension 53 is formed. This guide extension 53 protrudes from the rear side 38 in the direction of the chamber 23 between two adjacent wings 21, 22, for example by a distance 54. For this purpose, the base area 36, for example, if it is hyperbolic or parabola-shaped, can be above its surface
Be extended to the apex so that a curvature that continues in the direction of the chamber 23 is achieved.
This guide extension 53 does not only effect - as schematically - by a waved arrow
46 indicated that solid particles 14, which are ejected from the chambers 23, 24, strike the inner jacket 16 of the jacket 3 of the pump housing 2 at an acute angle, but also causes a liquid flow in this direction, so that the
Solid particles 14 are moved in the course of this laminar flow in the direction of the front end wall 6 and the outlet 29. The solid particles 14 can therefore either discharge the excess liquid 12 through the outlet 29 with the liquid
12 or otherwise can be removed more easily with the outflowing air flow from the interior 13 of the gas pump 1.
Of course, it is also possible that the distance 54 of the guide extension 53 is opposite to the
Direction of rotation of the impeller 20 from one wing 21 to the following wing 22, preferably increasing continuously, so that the effect of this discharge of the solid particles 14 is further increased.
Another embodiment variant is shown in FIG. 8, in which, in order to generate an incline to the axis of rotation 19, into one of the rear wall 5 of the pump housing 2 of a gas pump
1 facing away from the direction of the flow, at least two vanes 21, 22 are provided with a blade-like guide extension 55 in the area of the rear side 38. This process
55 protrudes over the wing 21, counter to the direction of rotation of the impeller 20 indicated by an arrow 56 - as can also be seen in FIG. 2 - in the direction of the following wing
22, that is, into the chamber 23 located between them.
This guide extension 55 can be arranged on each of the vanes 21, 22 of the impeller 20 or only on some in order to
Pump housing 2 to build up a laminar flow in the direction of the outlet 29, so that
Solid particles 14 in the interior 13 of the pump housing 2 in the direction of this outlet
29 are moved and solid particles 14 are ejected in directions oblique to the inner jacket 16.
EMI9.1

Finally, it should be noted that the guide body 39 and of course also the guide extensions 53 and the guide extension 55, if they are not in one piece with the impeller 20 and
EMI10.1
As a preferred material for the manufacture of the pump housing 2 or the rear wall 5 and the end wall 6, casting material, such as. B. cast iron, cast steel or bronze can be used. But it is also possible that the pump housing 2 made of a high-strength plastic part, for. B. in injection molding.
Due to the design or arrangement of the guide surface 43 in the interior 13 of the pump housing 2 and by appropriate design of the transition surfaces 49 of the vanes 21, 22 of the impeller 20 or the arrangement of a guide extension 53 and / or 55 on the impeller 20, there is now a direction of movement Controlled according to arrows 45 and 46 of the solid particles 14 so that an angle of incidence 57 between the direction of movement, according to arrow 45 and the guide surface 43 - in FIG. 4 or 5 or 7 - or between this direction of movement, according to arrow 45 and one tangent 58 applied to a concave region of the guide surface 43, as in FIG.
6 is smaller than 90 and thus also the solid particles 14 upon movement against the inner jacket 16 undergoes a movement component in the direction of the end wall 6, that is to say in the direction of the outlet 29, as a result of which the abrasion which is exerted by the solid particles on the inner jacket 16 is reduced, or the proportion of solid particles 14 in the liquid ring 17 can thereby be considerably reduced, since the discharge of the solid particles 14 from the liquid area is promoted by the outlet 29. In this context, it should also be noted that in the respective impact area 59 of the solid particles 14, the energy of the solid particles 14 causing abrasion or milling or removal of the inner shell 16 due to the parallel to the inner shell
16 running movement component is reduced.
In conclusion, it should be pointed out that in the exemplary embodiments described above, individual parts have been disproportionately enlarged in order to improve understanding of the solution according to the invention. Furthermore, individual parts of the combination of features of the individual exemplary embodiments described above in conjunction with other individual features from other exemplary embodiments can also form independent solutions according to the invention.
