Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Schmierfett für die Verwendung mit zu schmierenden Gegenständen aus Kunststoffen, wie z. 8. Polyphenylenoxiden, insbesondere zur Schmierung von Kunststoffrädem für Getriebe. Für die Eignung eines Schmierfettes, welches über einen längeren Betriebszeitraum an zu schmierenden Kunststoffteilen verbleiben soll, ist es zunächst grundsätzliche Voraussetzung, daß keine störenden S Entmischungserscheinungen bei Betriebsstillständen auftreten. Schmierfette der eingangs genannten Art werden beispielsweise für die Schmierung von Getrieberädern aus Kunststoffen bei Magnetband-Aufzeichnungsgeräten eingesetzt und Getriebe derartiger Geräte sind zumeist relativ schwer zugänglich. Insbesondere bei kompakt- und kleinbauenden Geräten werden in der Regel elektronische Baugruppen unter Ausnützung der Freiräume des Chassis um Getriebe und Antriebsteile herum angeordnet, sodaß in der Folge der Zugang zu derartigen mechanischen Teilen 10 elektronischer Geräte nur mit hohem Wartungsaufwand möglich wird. Die Schmierfette müssen daher neben einer hohen Langzeitbeständigkeit eine gute Kunststoffverträglichkeit aufweisen. Überraschenderweise hat sich gezeigt, daß die für Schmierfette geforderten Eigenschaften in bezug auf Geräuschdämpfung und Wirkungsgrad sich im umgekehrten Verhältnis zu ihrer Kunststoffverträglichkeit zu verhalten scheinen.
Aus der WO-89/04856 ist eine öl-in-Wasser-Emulsion bekanntgeworden, in welcher 10 bis 40 Gew.-% einer IS wachsartigen Substanz, wie beispielsweise Paraffinwachs oder Petrolatum, 0,5 bis 10 Gew.% eines filmbildenden Polymers, wie Polyethylen oder Polybuten, sowie weitere Zusätze von Wachsmodifizierungsmitteln, Korrosionsinhibitoren, Hilfsstoffen und oberflächenaktiven Mitteln sowie ggf. Wasser enthalten sind. Für Getriebeteile und Kunststofflager von Wellen wird beispielsweise Polyphenylenoxid als Kunststoff eingesetzt und zur Überprüfung der Kunststoffverträglichkeit werden Prüfkörper, insbesondere Zugstäbe, aus einem 20 derartigen Kunststoff angefertigt und in Kontakt mit dem Schmierfett unter Prüfbedingungen gelagert, wobei in der
Regel eine Lagerung bei 20 °C in spannungslosem Zustand, unter 0,5%-iger und unter 1 %-iger Dehnung sowie eine Lagerung bei 80°C im spannungslosen Zustand bei 0,5%-iger Dehnung und bei 1%-ger Dehnung vorgenommen wird. Nach einer entsprechenden Lagerung über mehrere Tage wird das Aussehen der Probestäbe und ihre mechanischen Eigenschaften geprüft Während eine Reihe von bekannten Schmierfetten für Kunststoffe in 25 spannungslosem Zustand der Zugstäbe und bei niedrigen Temperaturen noch keine nennenswerten Korrosionserscheinungen an den Prüfkörpern bewirkt, wird in der Regel insbesondere bei höherer Dehnung und höheren Temperaturen ein mehr oder minder ausgeprägter Angriff auf die Oberflächenstruktur der Prüfkörper beobachtet welche in der Folge im Einsatz zum Bruch von Getriebeteilen und/oder Lagerteilen führen kann. Übliche, im Einsatz befindliche Fette für die Schmierung von derartigen Kunststoffteilen müssen neben einer 30 zumeist durch die Art der Aufbringung des Fettes vorgegebenen Viskosität Tropfpunkte aufweisen, welche sicherstellen, daß das Schmierfett im Betrieb nicht ohne weiteres zwischen den miteinander in Eingriff stehenden Teilen eines Getriebes oder an der Lagerstelle verdrängt wird.
Unter Berücksichtigung all dieser Randbedingungen, insbesondere unter Berücksichtigung der geforderten Kunststoffverträglichkeit, sind allen Anforderungen gerecht werdende Schmierfette gegenwärtig nicht bekannt. 35 Lithiumfette und Lithiumkomplexfette sind aus Gründen mangelnder Kunststoffverträglichkeit nur beschränkt einsetzbar und auch hoch reine Kohlenwasserstoffgemische in halbfestem Zustand zeigen einen ausgeprägten Angriff auf Kunststoffteile, wenn diese mechanisch belastet werden.
Die Erfindung zielt nun darauf ab, ein Schmierfett der eingangs genannten Art zu schaffen, welches sich insbesondere für die Schmierung von Kunststoffrädem für Getriebe eignet und neben einer guten Kunststoff-40 Verträglichkeit auch eine gute Geräuschdämpfung über die Lebensdauer der Bauteile und einen verbesserten Wirkungsgrad bei der Kraftübertragung aufweist. Weiters zielt die Erfindung darauf ab, ein Schmierfett zu schaffen, welches nur geringe Entmischungstendenzen aufweist und auch nach längeren Stillstandszeiten unmittelbar nach der Inbetriebnahme im Falle derartiger Entmischungserscheinungen rasch wieder eine homogene Konsistenz annimmt. Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe besteht das erfindungsgemäße Schmierfett im wesentlichen darin, daß es als Basis 45 Polyolefine, insbesondere Polybutene und/oder Polyisobutene, in einer Menge von 55 bis 80 Gew.-% enthält, welcher Basis ein Gemisch mittelfester Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie z. B. Petrolatum, in einer Menge von weniger als 30Gew.-% und Seifen, wie vorzugsweise Stearate, Palmitate, insbesondere Al-Stearate, Li-Stearate, Erdalkalistearate, sowie ggf. übliche Schmiermittelzusätze, wie Graphit und/oder ΜΟ$2> zugesetzt sind. Die Verwendung von Polybutenen undPoly isobutenen als Schmiermittel mit öliger Konsistenz ist bekannt. Öle sind zur Dauer schmierung 50 von Getrieben an unzugänglichen Stellen aber nicht ohne weiteres verwendbar und können auf Grund ihrer Dünnflüssigkeit sowie auf Grund der mit dieser Dünnflüssigkeit verbundenen Abdichtungsprobleme in elektronischen Geräten mit mechanischen Bauteilen nicht ohne weiteres eingesetzt werden. Die Verwendung einer Basis aus Polyolefinen, insbesondere aus Polybutenen und/oder Polyisobutenen für Schmierfette bringt gegenüber bekannten Schmierfetten eine wesentlich verbesserte Kunststoffverträglichkeit mit sich und führt zur Schaffung eines 55 Schmierfettes mit äußerst geringer Neigung zur Entmischung sowie einer den Anforderungen entsprechenden Geräuschdämpfung. Insbesondere die Geräuschdämpfung wird auf Grund der geringen Neigung zur Entmischung sichergestellt. Unter den oben angegebenen Testbedingungen lassen sich insbesondere auf der Basis von Polybutenen -2-
AT 395 250 B und/oder Polyisobutenen Schmierfette erzeugen, welche auch bei hohen Temperaturen und hohen mechanischen Beanspruchungen keinerlei Konosionserscheinungen zeigen, und der Umstand, daß ein Gemisch mittelfest»' Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie beispielsweise Petrolatum, in ein»1 Menge von weniger als 30 Gew.-% eingesetzt wird, führt dazu, daß dies»1 Schmierfettbestandteil, welcher, für sich gesehen, deutliche Konosionserscheinungen zeigen würde, in der Mischung keine nachweisbaren Korrosionserscheinungen bewirkt. Der Einsatz von Seifen führt zur Ausbildung der gewünschten Konsistenz des Schmierfettes, obwohl die Basis des Schmierfettes als ölig anzusprechen ist
Mit Vorteil werden hiebei als Basis Polyolefine eingesetzt, welche eine Viskosität der Basis bei 100 °C zwischen 10 und 40 cSt ergeben.
In besonders vorteilhafter Weise sind im Rahmen des erfindungsgemäßen Schmierfettes Polybutene bzw. Polyisobutene als MischungvonKomponenten mit verschiedenem Polymerisationsgradeingesetzt. Auf diese Weise gelingt es unter Aufrechterhaltung einer geringen Entmischungsneigung, die jeweils geforderte Konsistenz exakt einzustellen, wobei auf Grund der Wahl der einzelnen Komponenten auch bei unterschiedlichen Konsistenzen die Kunststoffverträglichkeit unverändert aufrecht bleibt
Ein insbesondere für die Anwendung zur Schmierung von aus Polyphenylenoxiden bestehenden Getrieberädern geeignetes Schmierfett, welches mit den gleichen Einrichtungen, wie bisher verwendete Schmierfette, aufgebracht weiden kann, läßt sich dadurch erzielen, daß drei Komponenten unterschiedlichen Polymerisationsgrades als Basis eingesetzt sind, deren Komponente mit niedrigstem Polymerisationsgrad eine kinematische Viskosität bei 50 °C von 4 bis 8 cSt, deren Komponente mit mittlerem Polymerisationsgrad eine kinematische Viskosität bei 100 °C (ASTM D445) von 10 bis 30 cSt und deren Komponente mit höchstem Polymerisationsgrad eine kinematische Viskosität bei 100 °C (ASTM D445)von 80 bis 200 cSt, insbesondere 90 bis 125 cSt aufweist. Durch geeignete Mischung dieser drei Komponenten lassen sich Produkte mit einem Tropfpunkt <70 °C realisieren, bei welchem auch die geforderte Penetration als Kriterium für die Schmiermitteleignung erfüllt ist. Die Penetration liegt hiebei zumeist günstiger als die entsprechenden Werte vergleichbarer Produkte des Standes der Technik, und es kann als Obergrenze der Penetration ein Wert von 280 mm/10 eingestellt werden. Die zum Einsatz gelangenden halbfesten Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie beispielsweise Petrolatum, weisen üblicherweise einen Tropfpunkt von 43 bis 45 °C, wenn sie in entsprechend»- Reinheit eingesetzt werden, auf. Dieser Tropfpunkt wäre für die Aufrechterhaltung ein» Schmierwirkung über lange Betriebszeiträume zu niedrig und insbesondere für die Verwendung bei höheren Betriebstemperaturen ungeeignet. Durch die Mischung mit den Polybutenen bzw. Polyisobutenen und V»dickung mit den zum Einsatz gelangenden Seifen wird der Tropfpunkt in für das Anwendungsgebiet geeignete B»eiche verschoben.
Als besonders geeignet haben sich Mischungen von Polybutenen bzw. Polyisobutenen erwiesen, bei welchen die Komponente mit mittlerem Polymerisationsgrad in ein» Menge vorliegt, welche dem 2- bis 5-fachen, insbesondere dem 3- bis 4-fachen d» Menge d» beiden anderen Komponenten entspricht. Insgesamt w»den mit Vorteil Schmierfette so ausgebildet, daß die Polybutene bzw. Polyisobutene in ein» Menge von 65 bis 75 Gew.-%, des Schmierfettes enthalten sind, wobei in vorteilhafter Weise Seifen und halbfeste Kohlenwass»stoffe in ein» Gesamtmenge von 20 bis 35 Gew.-%, insbesondere etwa 30 Gew.-%, des Schmi»fettes eingesetzt sind.
Bei der Herstellung des Schmierfettes wird die Basis, bestehend aus dem Gemisch der Polybutene und/oder Polyisobutene, mit geeigneten mittelfesten Kohlenwasserstoffen und Seifen bei Temperaturen üb» 100 °C gerührt, worauf die Mischung langsam erkalten kann. Während des Erkaltens ist ein Rühren nicht vorgesehen, wohl aber im Anschluß daran ein Homogenisieren, welches beispielsweise üb» Walzenstühle vorg»iommen weiden kann. Besonders günstige Konsistenzen ergeben sich hiebei, w»in die Menge an Seifen 2 bis 8 Gew.-%, insbesondere 3 bis 5 Gew.-%, des Schmierfettes beträgt. Ein Produkt mit besonders gut» Kunststoffverträgtichkeit, hoh» Geräuschdämpfung und guter Homogenität sowie verlängerter Standzeit, ohne Gefahr eines Entmischens, läßt sich dadurch »zielen, daß die Komponente mit niedrigstem Polymerisationsgrad in einem Mengenverhältnis zu den and»en Komponenten von 1: lObis 1:15, insbesondere 1:13,und die Komponente mithöchstemPolymerisationsgrad in einem Mengenverhältnis zu den anderen Komponenten von 1:5 bis 1:8, insbesondere etwa 1:6, in der Mischung d» Polybutene bzw. Polyisobutene vorliegt.
Die Erfindung wird nachfolgend an Hand eines Ausführungsbeispieles näher »läutert.
Es wurden 55 Gew.-Teile eines Polybutens ein» Viskosität von 11 bis 14 cSt bei 100 °C (ASTM D445) mit 5 Gew.-Teilen eines Polybutens einer Viskosität bei 50 °C (ASTM D445) von 4,5 bis 5,5 cSt und 10 Gew.-Teilen eines Polybutens mit einerViskosität bei 100°C (ASTM D445) von 92 bis 1 l4cStmiteinand» verrührt und 26 Gew.-Teile Petrolatum in Nahrungsmittelreinheit versetzt (ÖAB 9). Weiters wurden 4 Gew.-Teile Aluminiumstearat zugesetzt und diese Mischung bei Temperaturen von üb» 100 °C unter Rühren gehalten. Anschließend wurde diese Mischung langsam erkalten gelassen und über einen Dreiwalzenstuhl homogenisiert. Das erhältliche Produkt zeichnete sich durch eine Penetration von <340 mm/10 und einem Tropfpunkt von >70 °C aus. - AT 395 250 B los, bei 20° mit 0,5%-iger Dehnung, bei 20° mit 1%-iger Dehnung, bei 80° spannungslos, bei 80° mit 0,5%-iger Dehnung und bei 80° mit 1%-iger Dehnung über einen Zeitraum von 168 h gelagert Im Anschluß an die Lagerung wurde das Aussehen der Probestäbe und die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Probestäbe geprüft. Die mechanischen Eigenschaften wurden auf einer Zugprüfmaschine mit einer Vorschubgeschwindigkeit von 20 mm/min ermittelt, 5 wobei die erhaltenen Werte mit den Kennwerten nicht gelagert»' Probestäbe verglichen wurden. Unter den gegebenen Bedingungen zeigte sich bei keinem Prüfkörper ein nennenswerter Angriff des Kunststoffes, sodaß die Kunststoffverträglichkeit als ausreichend bezeichnet werden muß. Lediglich bei höchsten Temperaturen, insbesondere bei dem Vergleichsversuch bei 80 °C, kam es bei höchster Dehnung vereinzelt noch zu feststellbaren Angriffen auf den Kunststoff, wobei bei einem weiteren Produkt, bei welchem zusätzlich zu den oben genannten Komponenten 10 Graphit und/oder MOS2 in die Mischung inkorporiert wurde, auch bei höchsten Temperaturen und höchst» Belastung kein wie immer gearteter Angriff der Kunststoffe beobachtet weiden konnte. 15 PATENTANSPRÜCHE 1. Schmierfett für die Verwendung mit zu schmierenden Gegenständen aus Kunststoffen, wie Polyphenylenoxiden, 20 insbesondere zur Schmierung von Kunststoffrädem für Getriebe, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als Basis Polyolefine, insbesond»ePolybutene und/oder Polyisobutene in einer Menge ^von 55 bis 80Gew.-% enthält, welch» Basis ein Gemisch mittelfester Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie insbesondere Petrolatum, in ein» Menge von weniger als 30Gew.-% und Seifen, wie vorzugsweise Stearate, Palmitate, insbesondere Al-Stearate, Li-Stearate, Erdalkalistearate, sowie ggf. übliche Schmi»mittelzusätze, wie Graphit und/oder MoS2, zugesetzt sind. 25
- 2. Schmierfett nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Viskosität der Polyolefinbasis 10 bis 40 cSt bei 100 °C beträgt
- 3. Schmierfett nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Polybutene bzw. Polyisobutene als Mischung von 30 Komponenten mit verschiedenem Polymerisationsgrad eingesetzt sind.
- 4. Schmierfett nach Anspruch 1,2 od» 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß drei Komponenten unterschiedlichen Polymerisationsgrades als Basis eingesetzt sind, deren Komponente mit niedrigstem Polymerisationsgrad eine kinematische Viskosität bei 50 °C von 4 bis 8 cSt, deren Komponente mit mittlerem Polymerisationsgrad eine 35 kinematische Viskosität bei 100 °C (ASTM D445) von 10 bis 30 cSt und deren Komponente mit höchstem Polym»isationsgrad eine kinematische Viskosität bei 100 °C (ASTM D445) von 80 bis 200cSt, insbesondere 90 bis 125 cSt aufweist.
- 5. Schmierfett nach einem d» Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Komponente mit mittlerem 40 Polymerisationsgrad in einer Menge vorliegt, welche dem 2- bis 5-fachen, insbesondere dem 3- bis 4-fachen d» Menge d» beiden anderen Komponenten entspricht.
- 6. Schmierfett nach einem d» Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Polybutene bzw. Polyisobutene in ein» Menge von 65 bis 75 Gew.-%, des Schmierfettes enthalten sind. 45
- 7. Schmierfett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Seifen und halbfeste Kohlenwasserstoffe in ein» Gesamtmenge von 20 bis 35 Gew.-%, insbesondere etwa 30 Gew.-%, des Schmierfettes eingesetzt sind.
- 8. Schmierfett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Menge an Seifen 2 bis 8 Gew.-%, insbesondere 3 bis 5 Gew.-%, des Schmierfettes beträgt.
- 9. Schmierfett nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Komponente mit niedrigstem Polymerisationsgrad in einem Mengenv»hältnis zu den and»en Komponenten von 1:10 bis 1:15, insbesondere 55 1 : 13, und die Komponente mit höchstem Polymerisationsgrad in einem Mengenverhältnis zu den anderen Komponenten von 1:5bis 1:8, insbesondere etwa 1:6, in der Mischung der Polybutene bzw. Polyisobutene vorliegt. -4-
