Die Erfindung betrifft einen Universalschlüssel mit mindestens einem offenen Schlüsselkörper, der am Ende eines Handgriffs oder an einer am Handgriffende ausgebildeten Einrichtung zum Verklemmen eines zu erfassenden Schraubenkopfes oder ähnlichen Verbindungselements derart befestigt ist, dass der Schlüsselkörper in seiner Greifebene in bezug zum Handgriff schwenkbar ist.
Ziel der Erfindung ist. es, einen solchen offenen Schlüsselkörper derart auszubilden, dass er sich bei der Betätigung des Werkzeuges nicht nur selbsttätig, insbesondere ohne Zuhilfenahme von Federn od. dgl., schliesst und auf dem zu befestigenden oder zu lösenden Verbindungselement festklemmt, sondern darüber hinaus auch bedarfsweise in bezug zum Handgriff beliebig abgewinkelt werden kann.
Dieses Ziel der Erfindung wird ihren wesentlichen Merkmalen zufolge dadurch erreicht, dass der offene Schlüsselkörper aus einem Anlageteil besteht, der in bekannter Weise mittels einer in der Greifebene des Schlüsselkörpers liegenden Gelenkachse mit dem Handgriff verbunden und um diese Achse um mindestens 90 in bezug zum Handgriff umklappbar ist und der eine Verzahnung aus abgerundeten Ausnehmungen und ebenfalls abgerundeten Vorsprüngen aufweist, und ferner aus zwei gegeneinander verschiebbaren Backen, von denen die erste Backe - wie an sich bekannt-ebenfalls Vorsprünge und Ausnehmungen aufweist, die der Verzahnung des Anlageteiles angepasst sind und in diese eingreifen, und von denen die zweite Backe um eine im Anlageteil gelagerte Drehachse drehbar ist.
Die teilweise zum Stand der Technik gehörenden obenbezeichneten Merkmale erbringen in ihrer zielstrebigen erfindungsgemässen Kombination den schätzenswerten Vorteil, dass erstmals Verbindungselemente, die sich an schwer zugänglichen Orten befinden, mit einem Werkzeug, dessen Handgriff während der Betätigung in irgend einem beliebigen Winkel zur Drehachse und Drehebene des Verbindungsmittels verlaufen kann, selbsttätig erfasst, geklemmt und gedreht werden können.
Dies wird auf eine besonders einfache, robuste und störungsunempfindliche konstruktive Art und Weise dadurch möglich gemacht, dass jener Anlageteil, der einerseits schwenkbar mit dem Handgriff verbunden ist, selbst jene aus abgerundeten Ausnehmungen und Vorsprüngen bestehende Verzahnung aufweist, welche in Zusammenarbeit mit den verschiebbaren Backen das selbsttätige Erfassen und Klemmen von Verbindungselementen ermöglicht.
In den Zeichnungen ist die Fig. 1 eine Teildraufsicht auf das eine Ende eines erfindungsgemässen Universalschlüssels, die Fig. 2 ist eine Teilseitenansicht dieses Endes bei verschwenktem Schlüsselkörper.

Um den Schlüsselkörper --2-- in einer jeweils gewünschten Schwenkstellung in bezug zum Handgriff - -1--, die nicht immer 900 entsprechen muss, zu halten, erweisen sich Rasterungen im Bereich der Gelenkachse --8-- als zweckmässig. Beispielsweise könnten an einer Gelenkbüchse des Anlageteiles Abflachungen und im Handgriff ein federbelasteter Rasterknopf vorgesehen werden.
Ist die Gelenkachse --8-- lösbar ausgebildet, dann besteht auch die Möglichkeit, den Schlüsselkörper - bzw. den Anlageteil --14-- gegen andere Elemente bedarfsweise auszutauschen.
Der aus drei Teilen gebildete Schlüsselkörper --2-- besitzt einen Anlageteil --14-- mit einer Verzahnung, die von abgerundeten Ausnehmungen --17, 18, 19-- und ebenfalls abgerundeten Vor- sprüngen --20, 21-- gebildet wird, welche über einen Kreisbogen angeordnet sind, dessen Mittelpunkt mit der Längsachse des Bolzens --5-- zusammenfällt, sowie zwei ohne Zuhilfenahme von Federn gegeneinander verschiebbare Backen --15 und 16--.

Die erste Backe --15-- besitzt Vorsprünge --22, 23, 24 und 25-- sowie Ausnehmungen --26, 27 und 28--, die jenen des Anlageteiles --14-- zugeordnet sind und mit ihnen zusammenwirken. Die zweite Backe - dreht sich um den Bolzen des Schlüsselkörpers --2-- und besitzt innen eine Nut mit Führungen - -30--, welche eine Verschiebung der ersten Backe --15-- zulassen. Die Verzahnung des Anlageteiles - ist derart angeordnet, dass diese mittig eine grosse Ausnehmung --18--, ferner zwei seitlich in bezug zu dieser mittigen Ausnehmung --18-- angeordnete Vorsprünge --20 und 21-- besitzt.
Dies ermöglicht das selbsttätige Schliessen der Backen --15 und 16-- in bezug zu dem zu befestigenden Verbindungselement (Schraubmuttern, Schraubbolzen od. dgl.) ohne Zuhilfenahme von Federn oder ähnlichen Hilfsmitteln.
