Verfahren zur Darstellung blauer Schwefelfarbstoffe. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass Arylsulfoderivate des Aminooxydiphpnyhnoins der folgenden allgemeinen Formel :

Behandelt man die genannten Verbindungen mit Natriumpolysulfid, so entstehen zunächst geschwefelte Produkte, welche Baumwolle im schwefelnatriumhaltigen Bade in blauen Tönen anfärben, jedoch nicht säureecht sind. Die so erhaltenen Produkte sind in Wasser leicht löslich und enthalten noch den Arylsulforest, eine Tatsache, welche höchst auffallend ist und keineswegs vorauszusehen war.
Werden nun die so erhaltenen Produkte mit konzentrierter Schwefelsäure behandelt, so wird die Arylsulfogruppe abgespalten und es entstehen Farbstoffe. welche Baumwolle in schonen blauen, nicht mehr säureempt1ndlichen Tönen anfärben. Auch die Tatsache, dass die bei der Schwefelung zuerst entstehenden, den Arylsulforest noch enthaltenden Produkte sich in glatter Weise und ohne dass Ncbenreaktioneu auftreten oder Farbstoff-

If the compounds mentioned are treated with sodium polysulphide, sulphurized products are initially formed which dye cotton in a bath containing sodium sulphide in blue tones, but are not acid-fast. The products thus obtained are easily soluble in water and still contain the aryl sulphate, a fact which is most striking and could by no means be foreseen.
If the products thus obtained are then treated with concentrated sulfuric acid, the arylsulfo group is split off and dyes are formed. which dye cotton in beautiful blue, no longer acid-sensitive tones.
