Bei den gebräuchlichen Verdampfern für salzausscheidende Flüssigkeiten inkrustieren die in den Verdampfleörper eingebauten oder an ihn unmittelbar angebauten Röhrenheizkörper leicht und müssen deshalb oft gereinigt worden. Hiezu ist eine längere oder kürzere Betriebsunterbrechung erforderlich, die nicht nur sehr störend für den Verdampfprozess, sondern auch mit grossem Wärmeverlust verbunden ist, so dass die Leistungsfähigkeit des Verdampfers ganz erheblich herabgemindert ist.
Um diesen Übelstand zu beheben, wird durch eine innere Einrichtung des Vordampfraumes verhindert, dass das ausgeschiedene Salz an die Heizflächen gelangen kann. Die erhitzte Flüssigkeit tritt deshalb aus einem neben dem Verdampfkörper v angeordneten lleizkörper t in der Höhe des Flüssigkeitsspiegels bei a in den eigentlichen Verdampfer ein, gibt ihre im Heizkörper h aufgespeicherte Wärme hier in Dampfform ab, wobei die Salzausschoidung stattfindet und sinkt nun sehr langsam nach unten.
