Barrel insert, the one used to adjust the aiming device
Carrying sighting telescope.
To check the alignment of the aiming device on guns, i. H. To investigate whether the target line is parallel to the soul axis of the gun barrel in its zero position, i.e. points to the same distant point as this, one proceeds in the following way.
An ordinary sighting telescope is placed in the middle of an insert that fits into the rear opening of the general purpose tube. If you jump this insert into its place, if the sighting telescope is adjusted correctly, its line of sight coincides with the axis of the soul, so it can represent it when checking the adjustment of the sighting device. Such a device must be checked before each use to ensure that its line of sight

Instrument will not easily undergo a change,
so generally the position of the telescope housing for inserts, and in particular that of the insertion for the gun barrel, does not necessarily coincide exactly enough with that in which the sighting telescope was originally adjusted each time the device is used again.
The aim of the present invention was to modify the conventional device so that the indicated correspondence occurs with a reasonable approximation.
For this purpose, the insert is divided into two inserts, one of which is fitted into the curve of the gun barrel and only carries one lens system

retains the previous location in the rear part of the gun barrel, but is only equipped with the eyepieces and the sight marker.
Since the two points by which the line of sight is determined, namely the rear nodal point of the lens system and the center point of the sight mark, are about the length of the gun barrel apart in this arrangement, the position of the sight line to the gun barrel can no longer be perceptible through the possible small differences in the position of the inserts with repeated use can be influenced.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown in a longitudinal section through the gun barrel. The objective system a is inserted into the barrel
