a) Die Ammoniakaatze werden unmittelbar in fester, nahezu reiner Form gewonnen.

Process for separating ammonia from the gases of dry distillation of coal, wood, peat and the like. like
In the dry distillation of coal, wood, peat, etc., ammonia and ammonia compounds have so far been obtained from the distillation gases by treating the latter with water or acids. In the latter case the acid, even if it was initially used in a concentrated state, was very rapidly diluted by the high water vapor content of the distillation gases, in that the water vapor was condensed in the acid at the usual temperature used.

the acid would soon become a hindrance to the absorption of the ammonia.
The innovation forming the subject of the invention consists in the fact that the distillation gases are finely divided through suitable concentrated acids, 7. H. sulfuric acid of 60 Bé., At such a temperature that the ammonia salts are precipitated directly in solid form . They are scooped out of the hot liquid in a known manner and the supply of fresh acid is regulated as required. Which he-

Steam does not condense in considerable quantities, but is carried on with the larger part of the tar.
A third of the tar collects as a layer on the sulfuric acid and is temporarily skimmed off and pushed off. The separated or skimmed off ammoniacal sulfuric acid has to go through a simple washing process.

a) The ammonia cats are obtained immediately in a solid, almost pure form.
The considerable costs for the evaporation of the dilute solutions for the separation of the solid ammonia compounds are eliminated. b) In comparison with the currently most widespread process, washing with water, the advantages are even greater, since large amounts of water are required to completely wash the ammonia out of the gases. After the free ammonia is bound to acid, these must either be evaporated to eliminate the ammonia compounds or be distilled with the addition of lime to drive off the ammonia completely and collect it in acid or water.
