Verfahren zur Herstellung eines aus Wasserstoff und Methan bestehenden Gasgemisches.
Nach einem bekannten Verfahren erfolgt die Herstellung eines aus Wasserstoff und Methan bestehenden Gasgemisches aus Gasen oder Gasgemischen, die Kohienoxyd aber keinen Wasserstoff enthalten (Hochofengas, Generatorgas u. dgl.) dadurch, dass das Gasgemisch über aus den oxyden reduziertes Nickel, Kobalt, Eisen oder über ein Gemisch dieser Metalls bei einer Temperatur von 300-500 geleitet wird. Dabei verwandelt sich infolge der katatytischen Wirkung der Metalle das Kohlenoxid in kohlendioxid und es entsteht auf den Metallen ein Kohlenstoffniederschlag : 2 CO 6'-}-C' (2 ; das Kohlendioxyd kann durch irgendein Mittel besewitigt werden.
Der so gebildete Kohlenstoffniederschlag wird mittels eines Wasserdampfstromes von einer Temperatur von 400-500 behndelt. Dabei

According to a known method, a gas mixture consisting of hydrogen and methane is produced from gases or gas mixtures that contain carbon oxide but no hydrogen (blast furnace gas, generator gas, etc.) by the fact that the gas mixture is made up of nickel, cobalt, iron, or is passed over a mixture of these metals at a temperature of 300-500.
