<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 2 eine Stirnansicht zu Fig. 1.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Pantographs for electric traction vehicles
The invention relates to a pantograph for electric traction vehicles.
Current collectors for electric traction vehicles are known per se in various designs and types. A well-known construction that is also used in practice is the knee-joint pantograph (also known as a vibrating beam pantograph or half-scissor pantograph), which consists of a main vibrating beam that is articulated on the vehicle roof or in its vicinity
EMI1.1
(German Auslegeschrift No. 1056170) known. The main swing beam is designed in this known construction as a simple arm, while the main link is formed by two arms, which with the help of one. Swing the intermediate piece around the axis of rotation.
Such a knee-joint pantograph differs fundamentally and significantly in terms of design and effectiveness from a pantograph to which the invention relates and is not comparable with such a pantograph because of the particular problems that are different in each of the two types.
Also pantographs are known per se in different designs, so z. B. from the
EMI1.2
of the scissor pantograph, the arms of the pantograph formed by four lower and four upper scissor tubes form a pentagon in a side view, the buoyancy elements are located within the scissor frame, and a pantograph head, designed as a rocker with two parallel contact strips, is provided in the area of the upper scissor vertices.
The main object of the invention is to design this known and now almost exclusively used type of pantograph for electric traction vehicles. that an extremely deep plunge position can be achieved. In addition, the diagonal tubes or transverse stiffeners that were previously common in such pantographs should be avoided and the dimensions of the pantograph and its area exposed to wind should be reduced at high speed.
The problem of the extremely low elevation arises above all when driving through tunnels and under paved roads.
According to the invention, the pantograph of the above-mentioned type is characterized in that the upper stay, consisting of four riser pipes, is supported by a lower stay consisting of two support bars and that two riser pipes of the upper stay are hinged trapezoidally on a support beam of the lower stay.
The extremely deep submerged position made possible by this design cannot be achieved with any of the hitherto known pantographs. This also applies in particular to the pantograph according to the already mentioned US Pat. No. 585, 267, because its arms form a square in a side view, the pantograph head is designed as a roller and the buoyancy elements are located below the arms of the closely adjacent and on a common axis Lower scissors lie.
In addition, this pantograph is an old one, only suitable for slow vehicles
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Design, the upper scissor arms are hinged on the inside of the lower scissor arms, which are close to one another, so that despite the trapezoidal articulation of the upper scissor arms provided there, the angle between the arms of the upper scissor and lower scissors always remains relatively large and there is no possibility of a position of the arms in which that of the arms included angle is zero or at least largely goes to zero, as is the case with pantographs according to the invention.
The use of a pantograph head (a rocker) is advantageous in the pantograph according to the invention. as he (she) is the subject of an older proposal (Austrian Patent No. 224162), which is suspended from the upper scissors in at least four points outside the apex of the upper scissors and has two parallel sliding strips arranged on a support frame, whereby one Differential suspension of the support frame of the pantograph head (the rocker) with the aid of pendulum telescopes articulated on the support frame is suspended in such a way that the extended longitudinal axes of the pendulum telescopes intersect. In this case, the height of the lowered pantograph according to the invention is, for example, only 250 mm above its fastening points on the roof of the motor vehicle.
A clearance of 40 mm is guaranteed between the lowest current-carrying point of the pantograph and the roof of the traction vehicle or the fastening points.
According to a further feature of the invention, the buoyancy spring for the lower scissors is divided in a manner known per se (German patent specification No. 632506) and consists of two or more individual springs, each with one end either on top or on the side of the support beam and with its other end are attached to an attack lever arranged on the cross tube in the base frame.
Another feature of the pantograph head of the invention is that the coupling rod is subdivided and that its two rod parts engage above the axis of rotation of the support bars and are connected to one another by a pivot lever attached to the base frame.
Further characteristic features of the pantograph according to the invention emerge from the following description in conjunction with the figures of the drawing.
Two embodiments of the subject of the invention are shown in the drawing. 1 shows an embodiment of the current collector in the extended state in a side view. 2 shows an end view of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 shows a side view of the current collector according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in the folded state, FIG. 4 shows a top view of FIG. 3, FIG. 5 shows a further embodiment of the current collector in the extended state in side view 6 shows an end view of FIG. 5, FIG. 7 shows a side view of the current collector according to FIGS. 5 and 6, in the folded state, FIG. 8 shows a plan view of FIG. 7. FIG. 9 shows a side view of the base frame and the support bars of a Current collector according to FIGS. 5-7 on an enlarged scale in the extended state, FIG. 10 a view like FIG. 9 in the folded state, FIG. 11 a detail A from FIG. 9.
The pantograph according to the invention, in which the tried and tested scissor shape has been retained, consists of a base frame 1. of the lower scissors consisting only of two support bars 2, furthermore of the upper scissors consisting of four riser pipes 3 and of a rocker 4. the subject of Austrian Patent No. 224162 is. Instead of this rocker 4, however, another rocker construction can also be used.
Is essential. that the lower scissor only consists of the two support bars2. The upper scissors rests on these two-spar lower scissors and forms a fixed frame for receiving the rocker 4 from two trapezoidal tubes 3 together with the scissor connecting member 5 and the cross tube 6 at or in the apex 7. The usual buoyancy spring is designated with 8 and the coupling rod with 9. The design according to the invention ensures the lateral rigidity, although the weight of the movable mass has been considerably reduced compared to the earlier versions. The attack surface-0 in the direction of travel. is significantly reduced. The joints 5 are expediently designed so that the individual scissor parts are connected to one another by means of screws; this enables simple maintenance and assembly.
As can be seen in FIG. 3, the pantograph designed according to the invention assumes a good low position in the folded state.
To achieve an extremely low position, in the improved embodiment shown in FIGS. 5-8, in addition to the two-spar design of the lower scissors, it is provided that the buoyancy spring 8 is divided, i.e. H. consists of two or more independent individual springs 8 'and 8 ". The springs 8', 8" are each with their one end on top or on the side of the spar 2 and with the other end on
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
attached to an attack lever J 0, which is arranged on a cross tube l 'in the base frame l. As a result, the center of the base frame 1 is freed from the buoyancy spring and the upper scissors 3 can be in a
Fold the lower position just above the base frame.
In order to also keep the distance between the two support bars 2 as small as possible
To reach lower scissors from the car roof or from the attachment point of the base frame 1 is also the
Coupling rod 9 is divided and consists of two rods g ', 9 "which are connected to one another via a reversing lever 11 rotatably attached to the base frame 1. The ends of the rods 9', 9" engage above the axis of rotation 2 'of the lower scissor bars 2 at points 12. As a result of the arrangement, the distance between the axis of rotation 2 'and the car roof or the fastening points can be reduced to the distance caused by the insulation.
The springs 8 ', 81t are each surrounded by a housing 13 and are only loosely hung on the bars 2, as shown in FIG. 11. In the event of a collision in which the support bars 2 are turned inwards, the edge 13 ′ of the housing 13 abuts the cross tube 1 ′ in the base frame 1 and the spring releases from its attachment to the bar 2, so that the current collector collapses .
