Das zuerst eintretende heisse Wasser fliesst durch den Kanal c ah, ohne dabei die Ausdehnungsrohre zu berühren ; das Ventil m kann also erst geschlossen werden, nachdem das in den Leitungen befindliche Wasser abgeflossen ist und Dampf in die Vorrichtung einströmt. Durch ein in dem Einflusskanal a angebrachtes Sieb n werden alle Unreinigkeiten. welche das Wasser etwa mitführt, aufgehalten.
