<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Device for cleaning and splitting cereals and seeds
The invention relates to the cleaning and sorting of all types of grain, preferably to the elimination of light-weight, but also small-grain additions. As is known, the former is mainly carried out by suction or pressure wind blowers, the latter by flat or cylindrical sorting sieves. All these known devices have the disadvantage that the fruit - in particular with the high volume outputs that are often necessary - is fed to the wind stream or the sieve in a layer that is too thick, whereby the quality of the work suffers.
If the fruit flow is too thick, an air sifting device cannot satisfactorily sift out the light material due to the obstruction by the mass of the large and heavy grains, and the work of a sieve is inadequate if the fruit flow is too thick because the small grains migrate above and inside the layer. Furthermore, the small grains cannot get to the sieve openings quickly enough because these openings are predominantly covered by larger grains, so to speak blocked. This applies to cylindrical and flat screen devices.
These decisive main causes are necessary when building machines for cleaning grain
Blowers or sieves to large dimensions. In spite of this, in practice the quantity outputs sometimes have to be reduced by up to 50 '%'.
With the device according to the invention, these disadvantages are avoided, smaller dimensioning of machines is made possible, an advantageous improvement in work is achieved and this at lower manufacturing and operating costs.
According to the above explanations, to enable good wind visibility and sieving work, the most important thing is that the fruit layer in the wind area or on the sieve is thinned as much as possible.
This is achieved in the device according to the invention by a rotating cylinder sieve or an endlessly revolving sieve belt, over which an obstacle bar is attached over the entire working width, only a thin layer of grain emerge from the feed chute attached above the sieve when the sieve is moved leaves. The obstacle bar is adjustable in terms of its distance from the sieve, so that different performances can be set. The speed of movement of the sieve is so great that, despite the narrow gap between the bar and the sieve and the resulting thin layer, great performance can be achieved.
In order to allow pieces of iron and stones that occasionally occur in the fruit to be pulled out without damaging the machine, especially the sieve, a second, made of semi-elastic material, is provided behind the rigid obstacle bar at a slightly larger distance from the sieve, which is provided when a larger piece is pulled in gives way through the sieve movement and lets the piece pass beneath it.
At 60 rev / min, a cylinder 1 m long and 500 mm achieves a wheat output of 7000 kg per hour, if the distance between the semi-elastic obstacle bar and the sieve is only 3.75 mm and the fruit layer is only around 3.75 mm thick the gutter emerges to be spotted afterwards.
According to the invention, a wind blower now acts on the thin layer thus obtained. Such a fan can e.g. B. act as a suction fan and are connected to the screen through one or more suction channels. Likewise, a pressure wind blower can be provided which z. B. blows away the light material from the fruit layer thrown from the cylinder through the pressure wind tunnel guide through part of the screen cylinder.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
If sieving according to the size of the grains is to be carried out, in addition to the above-mentioned Hindemis strips, which serve to dilute the fruit, other obstacles are attached over the sieve that lightly touch the sieve and are somewhat flexible. There are z. B. hanging knitting needles in large numbers, as well as stronger bristles. A brush can also be laid loosely over the entire working width. Such and similar means do not let the fruit fall undisturbed from the cylinder, but force the grains to repeatedly change their position on the cylinder, so that the small grains find the opportunity to fall through the openings.
It should be mentioned that Hindemis ridges above a moving sieve are known. One type of it in the form of cross bars above the vibrated flat sieve or in the form of a plate, however, aims to
EMI2.1
In another type, the action on the fruit takes place without the process of pulling it out of the gutter in a thin layer, but on a fruit that emerges in a well-known and customary way from a feed container with a slide, which makes it impossible to achieve a thin layer with greater outputs .
In the drawing, devices according to the invention are shown schematically, namely a rotating cylinder screen is used in the device according to FIG. 1 and an endlessly rotating screen belt is used in the device according to FIG.
In Fig. 1, a denotes the feed chute, b is the sieve drum rotating in the direction of the arrow, which feeds the grain through the gap between sieve and obstacle bar d in, which is only about 4.5 cm or less
EMI2.2
the sorting according to the thickness for the purpose of changing the position of the grains to be separated. In this case, the small grain falls under the long, thin obstacles e through the cylinder slots into the trough c, whereas the large grain falls off the cylinder at s. The trough c can also be omitted because the narrow grain emerges from the interior of the cylinder without it and can be collected.
If you want to do the air sifting alone, the obstacles e do not apply, the fruit reaches the area of the suction channel g in a thin layer, through which the light material is sucked up by the fan f and deposited in the expansion space, as the two arrows indicate. At i it comes out of the machine. If you want to work with pressure wind, the air outlet pipe of the fan f is omitted, the compressed air is guided through the hatched channel h to and into the screen cylinder and the light material is blown away through the channel g.
Despite the small dimensions of the cylinder, capacities of up to 50 tons per hour and more can be achieved due to the forced thin layer, especially since the speed of the cylinder and thus the fruit speed can also be increased to over 1.5 m / sec and the fruit can be thinned even further.
EMI2.3
At a the fruit is fed in and the layer thinning is achieved through the obstacle bar d air feed hopper a that extends over the entire width of the sieve belt. Additional obstacles for the purpose of changing the position of the grains are designated with e. If a grain to be separated reaches a needle, it has to be positioned differently - that is, more favorably - so that it can more easily fall through the sieve belt. A sliding floor is designated by f, through which the discharged small grains are brought about from the device.
A suction fan with one or more suction channels can also be provided in this embodiment with a circulating sieve. Likewise, a pressure blower can be provided, the duct of which is guided from below to the sieve belt and which blows the light material away from the sieve in any arrangement. At g the good fruit sags.
With the devices according to the invention, the advantages and cleaning or cleaning can be achieved in a simple manner. Sorting effects that were previously unresolved can be achieved.
