Walking board for plaster casts
The invention relates to a walking board for plaster casts.
A footplate for plaster casts is known which has a cross bar firmly connected to the footplate in the extension of the lower leg. This design has the disadvantage that this construction does not take into account if the foot is in plaster at an obtuse angle to the lower leg. It also proves to be a disadvantage that this plate has a certain length, it being known that the plaster casts have different lengths.
The present subject matter of the invention avoids these disadvantages in that the two parts of the footplate, which consists of two parts, can be displaced relative to one another in the longitudinal direction and can be pivoted relative to one another perpendicular to the plane of the footplate.
In the following an embodiment shown in the drawings is described in more detail: On the

Friction between rubber capsule and footplate. The two-part design of the footplate enables the length to be changed by providing part 1 with several transverse slots,! i1 which engages the upturned front edge of part 2. Furthermore, part 2 can be placed at an angle to the hoxizontal plane of part 1, which is necessary for a plaster cast where the lower leg and foot form an obtuse angle. The axis of rotation is located horizontally at the point where the edge of part 2 engages in the slots of part 1. It has proven to be advantageous to use a material that is permeable to X-rays for the plates.
The connection of the two parts of the footplate takes place in that part 1 is plastered in when the plaster cast is being applied and the row of transverse slits is exposed using a plaster knife. The front edge of part 2 of the footplate is then folded in the relevant transverse slot and fastened to the plaster cast by means of a plaster bandage. In the case of a plaster cast, where the lower leg and foot form an obtuse angle, part 2 of the footplate is positioned after the twisting so that the step 6 comes to lie in the extension of the lower leg. The resulting empty space between part 2 = d plaster bandage is filled with plaster of paris, then attached to the plaster bandage with a plaster bandage.
