Bei der weiteren Bearbeitung des dem Patente Nr. 16377 zugrunde liegenden Verfahrens wurde gefunden, dass mit Hilfe von ein-oder mehrwertigen Phenolen oder im Kern substituierten Derivaten derselben und geeigneten Lösungsmitteln Lösungen von

The described processes have advantages in that they can also make use of phenols which only melt above the decomposition temperature of acetyl cellulose for the process.
The process may be illustrated by the following example, without being restricted to the same: 1 part acetyl cellulose is dissolved in 4 parts phenol and then carefully mixed with 25 parts acetone. If this mixture is poured onto a glass plate and allowed to evaporate, a crystal-clear film remains.
