Process for the production of horns for gramophones u. like

The subject of the present invention is a process for the production of horns for gramophones u. Like., According to which this funnel can be made from paper power. The metal horns used up to now have the disadvantage that the tones of the metal, especially in high registers, are reproduced with a rasping sound, while normal paper maché funnels attenuate the sounds too much. The horns manufactured according to the present process should

 bare paste is produced.

To this paste about a third of the volume of varnish, a greasy varnish or turpentine oil varnish is added and the mass is rubbed well. After coating with this mass, it is dried and the individual parts or the entire funnel
 EMI1.3
The funnel obtained in this way is then coated with a kind of enamel varnish, e.g. B. Spirit varnish, Dammar varnish, Kopallaek, asphalt varnish, etc., varnished and dried at a temperature of around 40-600 C and this coat of paint is expediently repeated twice after sanding down. The horns produced in this way do not purr like the metal ones and because of the hardness given to them by the paintwork, they reproduce all tones in a pure and full manner.
