Ventile gleicher Funktion nebeneinander liegen.

Cylinder head for mixing four-stroke internal combustion engines.

The design of the cylinder head of four-stroke internal combustion engines is of crucial importance for performance and efficiency. It is known to give the combustion chamber the shape of a hemisphere or a dome and to arrange four valves radially therein, two each
Valves with the same function are next to each other. Four valves placed in parallel have already been arranged in a flat combustion chamber in such a way that two diametrically opposed valves each fulfill the same function. None of these designs can fully satisfy, as they are adjacent
Valves with the same function result in unfavorable flow conditions and, if parallel valves are arranged, the flat shape of the combustion chamber has a disadvantageous effect.

The subject of the invention is a cylinder head for mixture-compressing four-stroke internal combustion engines in which four valves are arranged radially in a hemispherical or dome-shaped combustion chamber such that two opposite valves A, B and C, D each fulfill the same function. In addition, each inlet valve has its own inlet duct E or F, which is exactly or approximately in the direction of the cylinder axis the plates do not meet due to the simultaneous stroke of two opposite valves, as would occur if similar valves located next to one another were used.

As a result of the large opening cross-sections, the unobstructed free flow caused by the opposition of the similar valves in connection with the separate inlet ports and the resulting strong gas turbulence in the cylinder, a higher speed and power of the engine can be achieved with lower fuel consumption than for motors of other types. Since the exhaust valves are also opposite one another, a more even distribution of heat is achieved over the entire cylinder head.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Cylinder head for mixture-compressing four-stroke internal combustion engines with four valves arranged radially in a hemispherical or dome-shaped combustion chamber, characterized in that two opposing valves (A, B or C, D) fulfill the same function.
