Device for the elimination of disturbing light reflections in photographic recordings
Analyzers.
It is known that the light reflected on non-metallic surfaces is partially polarized. It is therefore possible to eliminate some of the interfering reflections when taking pictures of shiny objects by placing an analyzer (polarizer) in front of the taking lens.
Such a use of an analyzer to eliminate reflections or to improve the brilliance in recordings with lateral, extensive reflective surfaces has already been used several times.
EMI1.1
Available that can be conveniently attached in front of the taking lens. The correct position of the analyzer in relation to the camera is determined by observing the recording object through the analyzer while rotating it. In order to be able to position the analyzer simultaneously with the determination of the image section through the viewfinder, an analyzer is arranged on or in the viewfinder according to the invention.
It is now only necessary to bring the analyzer into the most favorable position by rotating it when determining the image section and to bring the analyzer mount in the same angular position on the taking lens with the help of the scale attached on the same, which shows the position. Instead of using one analyzer, you can use two similar analyzers on the viewfinder and the taking lens.
These are brought into the same angular position with the help of the scale on the mount.
The two analyzers can be coupled to one another in order to save reading the scales and the subsequent adjustment of the second analyzer.
In the drawing, in an exemplary embodiment in FIGS. 1 and 2, such an arrangement is shown in which the analyzer 2 arranged in front of the see-through viewfinder 1 is coupled to the analyzer 4 located on the taking lens 3 by gears 5-9.
An arrangement of the same type can analogously also in the case of single-lens reflex cameras with two lenses
