Dieser Punkt ist ausserordentlich wichtig für grosse Geschwindigkeiten, da die Fliehkraftbeanspruchungen sich offenbar bei einer leichten Platte weniger bemerkbar machen als bei einer schweren Platte. Es ergibt sich auch eine wesentlich bessere Führung, da ein Verdrehen des Laufbandes bei Aufstossen des Randes auf ein Hindernis bei weit voneinander abstehenden Stützrollen unmöglich gemacht ist.
Die Anordnung der Stützrollen in einem grösseren Abstand voneinander wird bei der erfindungsgemässen Einrichtung dadurch ermöglicht, dass die durch die Verschiebung der Rollen nach aussen bedingte Schwächung der äusseren Riemen 1 und 2 durch eine entsprechende Verbreiterung des zwischen den Rollen laufenden Riemens 3 wettgemacht und solcherart eine Verminderung der Gesamtfestigkeit des Laufbandes vermieden werden kann. Auch können die mittleren Befestigungsbolzen 9 wesentlich kräftiger bemessen werden als die seitlichen Bolzen 7, die bei der älteren Bauart die gesamten Kräfte aufzunehmen hatten.
