  Skikantenschutz.

  Ski edge protection.

Various aids have been invented to protect the ski edges against premature wear.

Apart from steel edges that extend undivided over the entire length of the ski, subdivided edge piece lengths have already been used, e.g. B. the well-known rood screen steel or. Metal edge, which is screwed onto the ski wood in individual partial lengths.

The purpose of the subdivision is to impair the elasticity of the ski wood as little as possible when it is bent, since an undivided steel rail, screwed directly to the wood over its entire length, would make the ski bulky due to the different changes in length of wood and edge. In addition, the fastening screws would loosen over time due to the changing shear stress.

The disadvantage of these divided edges, however, is that the joints can easily be torn off and entire pieces of edge can be torn off when driving over stones, etc., a case which experience has shown to occur frequently.

The purpose of the invention is to eliminate this disadvantage. The subject of the invention is the device that a rubber compound is used as an elastic intermediate between the ski wood a and the undivided metal edge c extending over the entire running surface of the ski.

This intermediate means b has the property of permanently adhering to both the wood and the steel edge and, since it is inherently elastic, allows both the wood and the steel edge to bend freely, which is essential for the elasticity of the ski when skiing .
