Description

Skis with metal edges. and outsole cover.
It is known to provide the skis with metal strips on the running surfaces, since the wooden edges round off and splinter when subjected to some stress.
Metal parts on skis brought the advantage of stretching the part of the ski in question, the possibility of developing greater speeds, making sharper turns, steering precisely and stopping quickly.
In doing so, however, it turned out that especially the rear end of the skis is so heavily stressed in the skiing technique influenced by metal edges that this end was left free of metal fringing at all in order to avoid fiberization, while attempts to use resilient metal parts, strips, etc. . to lead to the end, have not yet had a satisfactory result.
The present invention remedies this drawback by a novel arrangement of wide segments at the tail of the ski.
In the drawing, the design of the ski end according to the invention is shown in plan. On the rear end of the running surface of the ski labeled A, the metal strips B run laterally up to about 10 cm in front of the ski end. At the end of the two metal segments 0, which - made of particularly slippery material and about 1 mm thick - are embedded in the wood of the ski and fastened with the screws D.
