Hoehdruckselhmierpresse.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

High pressure electrical press.
The invention relates to high pressure lubrication presses. u. between those devices in which the lubricant in a container is under the pressure of compressed air, which forces it. to enter the cylinder of the high pressure press. This system of forced feeding, which in any case ensures better filling and, consequently, more reliable operation of the lubricating apparatus, must be applied to the highly consistent specialty lubricants whose use is in the process of becoming established.
On the other hand, the aim is to use different lubricants for the lubrication of a machine, u. between each articulated connection one specially adapted to its nature.
So you have to provide a number of lubricating devices corresponding to the types of Sehmierstoffs or attach the Sehmiermittel container interchangeable to the lubricating press.
Lubricants are already known in which the lubricant container can easily be removed and replaced by another container so that the lubricant can be changed without having to do anything directly with the fat. However, in order to enable these containers to be removed quickly, it has hitherto been necessary to refrain from equipping them with a forced lubricant supply to the high-pressure press with the aid of compressed air, and manual devices have been used to forcibly bring the lubricant to the lubricator. The latter, however, are cumbersome and bulky.
The present invention aims to create a high pressure lubrication press, the easily and quickly removable grease container of which is provided with devices which ensure that the lubricant is automatically brought under the action of the compressed air as soon as the container is used in its place and the lubricating press is in operation . A lubricating gun constructed in this way also has the following characteristics.
The means for fastening the exchangeable container on the main part of the lubricating press contain a device which enables compressed air to be fed in behind the lubricant supply, so that this lubricant is pressed towards the lubricating press. The fastening device contains two sealing systems, one at the point where the grease from the container to the grease gun
EMI1.1
are made automatically and preferably simultaneously by the handle. which ensures the attachment of the container.
The container preferably contains a piston behind which the compressed air acts and which drives the lubricant in front of it.
In a first embodiment, the grease container is attached to the main part of the grease gun by means of a hollow rod which passes right through it along the axis and is screwed into the main part of the grease gun. This rod also serves to feed the air to the lubricant supply.
In a second embodiment, the container is enclosed in a solid capsule frame,
EMI1.2
provided, which press the container against the grease gun and ensure the tightness of the connections. The compressed air is behind the lubricant supply through the space between
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the outer wall of the storage container and the inner wall of the frame container surrounding it.
In a further embodiment, the device which brings the air behind the lubricant supply can be permanently connected to the container and form part of it. The tight connection is made when the container is inserted at the same time on the circumference of the air inlet opening and that of the grease outlet opening.
With reference to the drawing, embodiments of the invention will now be described, u. Between shows: FIG. 1 an embodiment of the lubricating press according to the invention in section; Fig. 2 shows another embodiment, partially in section.
The grease gun contains a main body 1, which contains a horizontal bore with shoulders, in which the actual high-pressure device moves. This bore contains a bore part 2 in which the working piston driven by air pressure is located, a further bore part 3 of smaller diameter which is in communication with the outside air, a drilled partition 4 and a cavity 5 which receives the lubricating press cylinder 6. The latter is supported on the partition 4 with the aid of a nut 7. The piston 8, which is directly attached to the compressed air piston 9, moves in this cylinder. A sealing pairing 10 is located in the bore of the partition 4.
It is pressed against the end of the cylinder with the aid of a spring 11 which is supported on the other side against the rear of the compressed air piston 9.
A double-acting valve controls the air inlet and outlet. This valve sits in an extension 12 of the grease gun body, which contains various chambers in which a double valve seat 13 rests, which is held with the aid of a hollow nut 14. A valve 15, which is under the action of a spring 16, rests on the lower part of this seat. In the upper part of the double seat 13, the seat of a pointed rod 17 is attached. A needle 18 of smaller diameter than the central channel of the piece 13 forms the extension of the rod 17 and is in the rest position in contact with the plate of the valve 15. So when the tip 17 sits on its seat, the valve 15 is open and vice versa.
Channels provided inside the piece 13 communicate through the channel 19 with the head of the air cylinder, while the seat of the tip 17 is connected through a channel 20 to the atmosphere. The tip 17 is extended towards the outside by a rod which is supported against an operating lever 21 which is seated on a handle 22. A spring 22 a seeks to keep the tip away from its seat.
On the part facing away from the handle, the body 1 has a machined surface 23, in the center of which a cavity 24 is made, which is connected through the channel 25 to the openings 26 of the lubricating press cylinder 6. In the middle of this cavity 24 there is a threaded bore 27 which is connected through a channel 28 to the channel 19, which guides the air to the working cylinder.
The fat container or the fat cartridge 30 consists of a vessel made of thin sheet metal, the upper bottom of which contains an opening 31, the diameter of which is a little larger than that of the opening 32 of the lower bottom. A freely movable piston 33 can slide inside the cartridge and contains in its center an opening 34 of the same diameter as the opening 32 in the lower base. When the cartridge is not in use, and especially while it is in storage, the openings 31, 32 are closed by suitable sealing caps or the like.
The cartridge 30 is attached to the grease gun by a hollow rod 34, one end of which carries a fixed ring 35 with wings, while the other end is threaded and can be screwed into the bore 27 of the grease gun body.
The channel 36, which runs through the entire length of the rod, opens at its upper end in a calibrated bore which is closed by a ball 37 against which a spring is supported. At its lower end, a hollow plug 38 is inserted, inside which a ball 39 is also provided, which is under the action of a spring of set tension.
Finally, the channel 36 communicates through the openings 40 with the free space which is located between the piston 33 and the bottom of the cartridge even when the latter is filled.
In order to put the apparatus into operation, the grease cartridge is attached to the surface 23 after the closures of the openings 31, 32 have been opened. The rod 34 is then inserted through these openings and screwed into the bore 27. A support plate 41 distributes the pressure force over the entire bottom surface of the cartridge, with a seal interposed. The upper end face of the cartridge is also pressed forcefully against the machined surface 23 of the grease gun, and here too a seal is inserted between the two parts.
This seal preferably consists of a leather washer 42 which is fastened in any desired way to the surface 23 and the center of which contains a hole, the edges of which protrude freely and are pressed against the bottom of the cartridge with the aid of a spring 43.
With the cartridge in place, the apparatus works as follows: A source of compressed air is connected to the opening of the plug 14. If you press the handle or button 21, so you press the tip 17 on its seat, while the extension 18 presses against the valve 15 and
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
this causes them to open up. The compressed air thus passes into the channel 19 and the channel 28. It comes through the former to the compressed air cylinder and drives the piston forward, the spring 11 being compressed. At the same time, the air admitted through the channel 28 and the bore 27 penetrates into the channel 36 through the rod 34, u. between the lifting of the ball 37. It then comes through the openings 40 between the end faces of the cartridge and the piston 33 and forces the latter to propel the fat over it.
The grease exits through the annular opening which is provided between the edge of the opening 31 and the rod 34, passes through the channel 25 and thus reaches the openings 26 of the grease gun cylinder. If you now let go of the button 21, the valve 15 closes again and interrupts the supply of compressed air, while the tip 17 is released from its seat and thus connects the channel through the opening 20 with the atmosphere. The air contained in the cylinder escapes in this way, and the piston 9 is moved back again by releasing the spring 11.
During this discharge period, however, the air that has been directed to the bottom of the cartridge cannot escape because it is retained by the closure of the ball 37. The piston 33 thus continues to advance the grease, which now fills the grease cylinder as soon as the piston has exposed the openings 26.
A new pressure on the button 21 causes a second stroke of the high pressure piston, whereby this fat is expelled through the discharge pipe to the point of use. At the same time, a certain amount of air is let in behind the piston 33 of the grease cartridge.
This fat container preferably represents a pack filled in the factory and can be provided with an inviolable seal. which prevents refilling. It is therefore important that the cost of this container is as low as possible and that it is consequently made of sheet metal that is as thin as possible. For this it is necessary that the pressure of the air fed into this cartridge is limited to the value which is just sufficient to drive out the fat. and which is therefore significantly lower than the pressure required to drive the high pressure press. This is achieved in that a calibrated bore is provided at the end of the rod 34, which acts as a reducing device, u. zw. In connection with the valve 39, which plays the role of a safety valve.
You can use the high-pressure press in this way with a pressure of, for example, 6 to 7 kg per cm. operate without the pressure in the cartridge exceeding 3 kg per cm2.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the cartridge can be made even cheaper and made of even thinner metal. In this embodiment, the body Z of the grease gun carries a tube 50 below; which is tightly attached and can withstand the pressure of the compressed air.
This tube is closed at the bottom by a cover M with a seal.
The cartridge 30 contains an upper base which has a perforated opening 31, while the lower base is formed only by the piston 33 which is not perforated. The upper base of the cartridge is pressed against the surface 83 of the grease gun by means of a spring 52.
The spring 52 is supported by the cover 5j! and advances a support plate 53 on which the lower edge of the cartridge rests. The compressed air is continuously admitted through the channel 28 into the annular space which is located between the outer wall of the cartridge and the tube 50. As in the embodiment of FIG. 1, it thus acts on the piston 33, but in this case the air pressure acts on the side walls from the outside, while this pressure is balanced by the pressure of the grease from the inside.
The invention can also be implemented in other embodiments. This is how the channel that feeds the air to the lower part of the grease cartridge. also consist of a tube which is soldered to the outer wall of this cartridge. The connection of this tube with the grease gun is achieved by attaching the cartridge to the Sehmier press body; so you need
EMI3.1
To obtain transition opening and the fat transition opening. The cartridge could in this case be pressed against this seal with the help of a screw wing.
