Die Erfindung betrifft Nickel-Chrom-oder Nickel-Chrom-Eisen-Legierungen zur Herstellung von elektrischen Widerstandsdrähten oder-streifen für elektrische Feuerungen, Erhitzer u. dgl. Es ist bekannt, die Lebensdauer der aus solchen Legierungen hergestellten Drähte oder Streifen durch Zusatz von O'Ol bis 0'25% Kalzium und gegebenenfalls auch von 1 bis 20% Molybdän zur Legierung ganz wesentlich zu erhöhen. Durch den Kalziumzusatz wird zwar die Lebensdauer des Widerstandsdrahtes oder - streifens verdoppelt oder selbst verdreifacht, jedoch ist damit der Nachteil verbunden, dass das Walzen und Ziehen in Drähte oder Streifen grosse Schwierigkeiten bereitet.
Um diese zu beseitigen, wurden Nachforschungen und Versuche durchgeführt und schliesslich gefunden, dass nicht nur das Walzen und Ziehen erleichtert, sondern auch der Vorteil des Kalziumzusatzes noch erhöht werden kann, wenn 0-1 bis 1% Zirkonium zugesetzt wird.
Die Lebensdauer des aus einer gemäss der Erfindung zusammengesetzten Legierung hergestellten Widerstandsdrahtes oder-streifens beträgt das Vierfache eines Drahtes oder Streifens aus einer gewöhnlichen Nickel-Chrom-Legierung.
Eine gemäss der Erfindung zusammengesetzte Legierung besteht somit aus 50 bis 90% Nickel,

ferner aus 20% Eisen, wenn es sich um eine Nickel-Chrom-Eisen-Legierung handelt. Die Legierung ent- ält natürlich auch noch die bekannten Verunreinigungen, wie Spuren von Aluminium, Kohlenstoff, Silizium usw.

The invention relates to nickel-chromium or nickel-chromium-iron alloys for the production of electrical resistance wires or strips for electrical furnaces, heaters and the like. The like.
