Description

Process for the production of ferromagnetic cores from iron powder.
It is known to use fine iron powder for the production of iron cores, in particular for self-induction coils in high frequency technology. For this purpose, the iron powder is embedded in insulation material so that the individual iron grains are isolated from one another. The powder prepared in this way is then pressed into the final core shape.
The invention relates to a production method for cores of this type, which are intended for high-frequency circuits, and proposes using amber as the insulation material, in contrast to the materials used today. This makes use of the property of amber that it is a material with low dielectric losses.
The procedure is as follows.
The well-known iron powder is intimately mixed with an amber solution that is not too thick. After this
EMI1.1
the powder is dried. Every single iron grain is now covered with a thin layer of amber. The dry powder is moistened with a little turpentine oil before it is pressed into the core shape so that the pressed material gains greater mechanical strength. The pressing itself is carried out in a manner known per se with the pressures customary for this purpose.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of ferromagnetic cores from iron powder for high-frequency circuits, characterized in that amber is essentially used as the insulation material.
