In
EMI2.1

Anti-theft security for automobiles.
The subject of the invention is a further embodiment of an anti-theft device for motor vehicles according to patent no. 134082, and the like. between, in particular, the locking bolt causing the steering column to be locked and released. The main feature of the invention is that the locking pin receives a spring in a recess and a sliding piece that interacts with this and is supported against an abutment provided on the pin, for the purpose of preparing the lock of the control column under tension of the spring.
The drawing shows several exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial longitudinal section through the combination lock, Fig. 2 shows a side view thereof, partially in section, Fig. 3 shows a detail, Fig. 4 shows the locking bolt alone in view. Fig. 5 illustrates a modified embodiment of the locking pin; FIGS. 6 and 7 show an additional unit for simultaneously influencing the ignition.
1 with the lock housing is referred to, which has a cylindrical bore 2 for the control column S and a frame-like extension 3, the bore perpendicular to the control column receives the locking mechanism.
This locking mechanism consists of a locking pin 5, which is provided with four grooves 7 profiled correspondingly to the locking balls 6 and at its right end with a slot 8 which continues into a bore 9. A Diuekfeder 10 is embedded in this slot, which is supported with its left end against the bottom of the bore and with its right end against a slider 11 guided in the slot, which has two threaded pins 11a and in turn rests against the rivet bolt 12 under the spring tension 10 .
The locking pin 5 is guided in a precisely fitting manner in the cylindrical bore of the locking ball carrier 13, which is secured against axial displacement by a pin 14. The offset end 13a of the locking ball carrier has (FIG. 3) two diametrically opposed slots 15 for the axial guidance of the threaded teeth 11a of the slider 11. On the offset part Ma sits a bushing 20, in the bore of which a self-locking screw thread 21 is milled. The thread teeth 11a of the slider 11 engage in this screw thread, so that the slider in any case experiences an axial displacement when the bush 20 is rotated by means of the marginal grip wheel 22.
7a denotes a special notch in the bolt 5 which, by snapping in the spring-loaded ball 25, provides a locking mechanism for the bolt 5 which is in the open position and is independent of the lock mechanism. This prevents unintentional turning of the adjusting knob (for example by rubbing against it or by vibrations) from bringing the locking bolt into the locking position if the opening combination of the number rings 26 is set by chance.
The arrangement of the slider 11 and the spring 10 has the following purpose:
If, with the opening combination set, the bushing 20 is rotated in the corresponding direction by means of the handle wheel 22, the engagement of the teeth 11a in the thread 21 shifts the slider 11 axially to the left and then takes the bolt 5 into the blocking position through the intermediary of the spring 10 when the hole in the control column provided for the bolt assumes the position shown in FIG. However, if the full (undrilled) jacket of the control column is opposite the bolt, only the slide 11 is moved to the left under tension of the spring M.
The locking pin then snaps

As can be seen from FIGS. 1, 2 and 4, the locking bolt has four notches 7, while only two locking balls 6 are provided in the carrier 13. This makes it possible, by engaging these two balls in the second and fourth notches (FIG. 2), to lock the bolt 5 in the position locking the control column, by engaging the same balls in the first and third notch to lock the open position of the bolt.
While in the embodiment of the locking bolt according to FIG. 4, the clamping balls only act on the bolt itself, but leave the slider unaffected, FIG. 5 shows a slider 11 which is correspondingly elongated, even forms the notches required for engaging the locking balls and also below the tension of a compression spring 10 is. This embodiment enables the bolt to move relative to the slide even when the lock is locked. With 7b, a further notch of the bolt is referred to, which can expediently be provided instead of the bolt locking given by the notch la and the ball 25.
This notch cooperates with a bolt 27 which is rotatably mounted in a bore in the lock housing, has an actuating toggle 28 and, at the other end, a switching device 29 which acts on the ignition. If the bolt 5 is in the position blocking the control column according to FIG. 1, the toggle 28 assumes the position shown in broken lines according to FIG. In
EMI2.1
Bolt in the dashed position holding the ignition interrupted.
The ignition can only be switched on when, after the opening combination has been set, the locking bolt 5 is pulled into the open position so that its notch 7b comes into the zone of the bolt 2'1. This bolt can then be rotated by means of the toggle 28 into the fully extended position according to FIG. 7, whereby the ignition is switched on. Now the bolt 27 blocks the locking bolt 5 by engaging in the notch 7b, that is, the locking bolt can only be moved back into its position that locks the control column if the bolt 27 has previously been rotated so that its filing 27a the bolt 5 releases.
The fact that the toggle 28 protrudes over the window of the lock housing that exposes the number rings in the position in which the ignition is switched on makes it impossible to adjust the number rings as long as the toggle is not in the dashed line the ignition is turned while holding the position.
