Device for removing the coke from upright, for coking coal u. like serving
Retorts.
EMI1.1
emptying chamber under each retort and a slide plate which separates the chamber from the retort, a table which can be moved up and down in the coke emptying chamber is provided to support the material while the chamber is being filled and the coke emptying chamber is fixedly attached and has a tiltable wall which can be moved towards a fixed wall of the chamber in order to enlarge the coke space and to facilitate emptying of the chamber through the opening in the chamber floor, which is closed by a slide.
According to the present invention, the table, which according to the parent patent was arranged in the coke emptying chamber so that it can be raised and lowered, is omitted and an arrangement is made for interrupted work, i.e. H. After coking has occurred in the retort, the slide plate that separates the retort from the associated coke evacuation chamber is pulled out so that the coke can fall down into the chamber. This is followed by the steaming of the coke and its cooling, and if so

so that this is separated from the retort, and the coke chamber is expanded at the same time by pivoting the tiltable wall. The door of the coke chamber can then be opened and the coke emptied. The retort is then filled again and coking is carried out as before.
As can be seen, the coke chamber is filled immediately as soon as the slide is pulled out, and the coke chamber does not fill so slowly. as with the device described in the parent patent.
At a short distance above the discharge door of the coke discharge chamber is an inlet

brief sinking of the entire charge in the coking chamber and the retort before the emptying door is actually opened. When the fuel, which is in a sticky and viscous state at the top of the retort, has stuck to the retort walls. so it can be detached by poking around before a new batch is introduced. The arrangement of the coke discharge chamber with its movable wall and with the slide can be the same as described in the parent patent.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows the device in section: the parts of the figure are shown in the positions which they assume after coking and during steaming and before the coke is emptied. FIG. 2 shows a representation similar to FIG. 1, but in which case the coke is emptied.
The lower end of the retort. to which the coke chamber adjoins is designated with a and the coke chamber with b. The slide plate for closing the retort against the coke chamber is

moved the wall e to enlarge the coke chamber when the coke is to be emptied.
Die'Wand e is rotatable about el, and it is also connected to the slide plate e.
At the lower end of the coke chamber is a pivotable flap g, which is in its working position
EMI2.1
is pivoted from the working position, as shown in FIG. it lies in a depression in the wall of the coke chamber so that it does not prevent the coke from being emptied freely from this chamber.
When the coking in the position of the plate e in the closed position (Fig. 2) has ended. will the

be dampened, whereupon it comes to drainage. The flap g is first turned into the working position, as can be seen in FIG. 2, and now the batch can be opened onto the door f? fall. The worker will see if the coal has fallen from the top of the retort and if it has not
EMI2.3
When the emptying is complete, the retort is filled again and the new batch is coked; the parts are then returned to the position shown in FIG. 1, and the process is repeated.
