Metalldampfgleichriehter.

Metal vapor alignment.
The invention relates to metal vapor rectifiers with a special design of the parts arranged between the vacuum vessel and the cathode container, such as insulating rings, etc.
The known metal vapor rectifiers contain z. B. insulating rings made of self-contained washers made of insulating material such as porcelain. Insulations have also already been proposed for this purpose, which are produced alternately from individual ring disks, rubber and iron, the iron parts being isolated from one another by the rubber disks. The porcelain insulators have the disadvantage that they have to be given a very high output in the case of large track rectifiers, which make their manufacture difficult and promote their destruction or damage.
According to the invention, more favorable conditions are now created for the sliding table by arranging two nested rings, the inner one of which is composed of segments made of insulating material (e.g. porcelain) and the outer of which is made of metal, between the vacuum vessel and the cathode container. The metal ring is embedded between sealing washers that are sealed in a vacuum-tight manner and is used primarily for sealing and, if necessary, for absorbing part of the mechanical stress and the porcelain ring 5 to avoid leakage currents at the

Porcelain segments 5 assembled to form a ring and an iron ring 6 which is insulated by the sealing washers 3, 4 and which encloses the porcelain ring segments as a closed whole.
The ring 6 can have a cavity 7 which is used for the passage of coolants. In front of the sealing rings 3 and 4, which are made of rubber, there are pre-sealing rings 8 and 9, which are made of such materials that a contamination of the vacuum, as could be the case if the rubber rings 3 and 4 are in direct contact with the vacuum would come, not enter. The joints between the porcelain ring segments can be filled with asbestos or the like.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Metal vapor rectifier, characterized in that between the vacuum vessel and the cathode container two nested rings, the inner of which is composed of segments made of insulating material (for example porcelain) and the outer of which is made of metal, are arranged between simultaneously insulating sealing washers.
