Das Patent Nr. 118147 betrifft ein Fernmeldekabel für Vierdrahtbetrieb, bei dem die Adern jeder der beiden Sprechrichtungen für sich mit beliebigem, gegebenenfalls unendlich grossem Drall zusammengefasst und die Bündel im Kabel nebeneinander angeordnet sind. Bei der Herstellung solcher Kabel mit hoher Adernzahl können leicht Schwierigkeiten dadurch auftreten, dass nach der Verseilung das aus lediglich zwei Bündeln aufgebaute Kabel das Bestreben hat, entgegengesetzt der Seelendrallrichtung zu tordieren, was naturgemäss zu Übelständen führen kann.
Um solche Übelstände zu vermeiden, wird gemäss der Erfindung vorgeschlagen, ein hochpaariges Kabel für Vierdrahtbetrieb in der Weise auszubilden, dass man als Kern nebeneinander liegende Bündel verwendet und über diesen beiden Bündeln weitere Bündel für Vierdrahtbetrieb anordnet, die gleiche oder vorteilhaft entgegengesetzte Drallrichtung haben, wie die nebeneinander liegenden inneren Bündel.
Dabei werden die Bündel zweckmässig so geformt, dass bei der Verseilung zur Kabelseele sich die günstigste Raumausnutzung ergibt und das Kabel eine runde Form erhält. Die Bündel können in bekannter Weise elektrostatisch oder elektromagnetisch gegeneinander abgeschirmt sein, so dass störende Nebensprechkopplungen nicht auftreten können.
In der Figur ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung dargestellt. Darin ist 2 eine beispielsweise für Rund-oder Bildfunkzwecke verwendete Doppelader. 3 und 4 sind zwei die Adern je einer Sprechrichtung enthaltende halbkreisförmige Bündel, über denen weitere Bündel 13, 23 und 14, 24 angeordnet sind. Dabei enthalten die Bündel 13, 23 die Adern der einen Sprechrichtung, die Bündel 14, 24 die Adern der andern Sprechrichtung.

In the manufacture of such cables with a high number of cores, difficulties can easily arise due to the fact that after stranding the cable, which is composed of only two bundles, tends to twist in the opposite direction to the spiral direction, which of course can lead to inconveniences.
In order to avoid such inconveniences, it is proposed according to the invention to design a multi-pair cable for four-wire operation in such a way that bundles lying next to one another are used as the core and further bundles for four-wire operation are arranged over these two bundles, which have the same or advantageously opposite twist direction, as the adjacent inner bundles.
The bundles are expediently shaped in such a way that the stranding to form the cable core results in the most favorable space utilization and the cable has a round shape. The bundles can be electrostatically or electromagnetically shielded from one another in a known manner, so that interfering crosstalk couplings cannot occur.
