Signaling device for single-track, electrically operated trams.
The invention relates to a signaling device for single-track, electrically operated trams, small railways or industrial railways, by means of which oncoming journeys between two adjacent passing points are avoided.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing.
M and N are passing points on the A-B railway line. F is the contact wire that is branched in the sidings according to the tracks. kil-18 are contact wires stretched parallel to the contact wires, to which current is supplied from the contact wire through the pantograph of a train as soon as
EMI1.1
are slightly longer than the longest braking distance of the trains running on this railway. D: e contact wires kll, 14, 15 and 18 are significantly shorter, but must be at least long enough to ensure that the train's sliding bar creates a secure contact, albeit brief, between it and the contact wire.
VI-IX are light signals that are set up at the ends of the passing points in such a way that the driver of the train that has entered the passing point can see from the signals whether he is allowed to exit or not.
These signals consist of two daylight signal lanterns that are normally unlit, i.e. i. if there is no train in the two adjacent signal sections. The upper of the two signal lanterns shows a white illuminated signal, the lower one a red signal image. The signal lanterns for the Weisslieht only have a row of lighting lamps (possibly only one lamp), as there is only one meaning for this
EMI1.2
drive and must therefore be secured against a descendant or because a return train is to be prevented from entering the single-track section by a red light.
In each signal, two support armature relays 11-18 are arranged in a special relay box, which is advantageously attached to the lower part of the signal mast so that it is easily accessible, of which those with the odd numbers in the direction of travel AB, those with the even numbers in the opposite direction the necessary signal currents Taxes. The arrangement of the relay contacts is indicated for relay 11.
These support armature relays are designed so that the armature of the de-energized relay coil a can only drop out when the armature of the relay coil b has attracted and vice versa.
In order to prevent the high voltage of the contact wire from reaching the easily accessible relay box, which would endanger the operating personnel, the voltage of the signal currents in railways that are operated with alternating or three-phase current is correspondingly reduced by alternating or three-phase transformers. For railways that are operated with direct current, the signal current of the desired voltage is drawn from a resistor connected to earth by the high voltage. The signal power lines branching off directly from the contact wire are through
Contacts each of a special auxiliary relay H \ B6-B) * 9 switched on and off, depending on whether the long contact wire of the one in the direction of travel or the short contact wire of the following alternative point is used.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
These auxiliary relays, the devices for disconnecting the current (transformers or resistors) and the low-voltage phenomena are housed in a switch box, which is advantageously not easily accessible, just below the signal lights on the signal mast. D; e.
Relay coils of the support armature relay and the contacts controlled by these are indicated in the drawing by circles with one or two dots, u. Between all a-coils and contacts controlled by the coils show circles with one point, the b-coils and the contacts controlled by them show circles with two points. The numbers of the relays to which the contacts belong are attached to each contact in the exemplary embodiment.
The operation of these devices is as follows: If the pantograph is one of A
EMI2.1
he electrically connects the contact wire k13 with the contact wire F, current passes through the line 11 via the closed contacts 14 and 15 of the relays 14 and 15 to the relay coil 15b and from there to earth, which is only indicated by an end arrow. 15b picks up and switches over all contacts controlled by relay 15. This causes 15b to be de-energized, whereas HR8 picks up. The HR6-9 Hills relay and the HR6-HR9 contacts they control are marked by circles with two horizontal lines.
The auxiliary relay HR8 now closes its contacts HR8 and current from the contact wire F passes through these contacts on the one hand through one of the two rows of lamps of the red light lantern of the signal VII
EMI2.2
extend direction with signal VI.
If the train in direction A-B comes to 7c17 on its onward journey, the processes that occurred when driving on M3 are repeated accordingly. At le18, siding N, the same processes take place again as when driving through k14 of siding M, but with the difference that the relays 17, mouth 73 work and as a result the signals V 11 and VIII are deenergized. The same sequence of operations occurs analogously with oncoming journeys, that is, with journeys in the direction Bsq. It is not excluded that a train in the direction A-B, e.g.
B. reaches the contact wire 7c13 at the same moment as a train in the opposite direction B-A reaches the contact wire k16. In this case, provision has been made that the train in one direction, e.g. B. the direction A-B has priority, that is, the signal VII shows "free travel", whereas the signal VIll signals "stop".
This is achieved by having the relay. 15 and with it the auxiliary relay HR8 through the line L current is supplied from the contact wire k16 when the line l1 while working at the same time
EMI2.3
is flowed through, so are the contacts HR8 of the line! 8 and to relay HR8 closed and signal VIII lights up red, whereas signal V 11 shows white light.
PATENT CLAIMS: 1, signaling device for single-track, electrically operated trams, characterized in that a support armature relay and an auxiliary relay are arranged for each signal for each direction of travel, the contacts of which control the light signal streams branched off directly from the contact wire so that the white light for free exit one direction of travel is connected in series with the red light of the signal in the opposite direction.
