Fig. 6 stellt eine fertige Faltung dar.

Machine for packing paper rolls etc. like
The invention relates to a machine for packaging paper rolls and. Like. By means of packaging on paper, cardboard, fabric or a similar coherent flexible material.
The invention essentially relates to the use on the machine of means for producing longitudinal and transverse pre-embossing in the parts of the packaging paper protruding beyond the ends of the roll, as well as means for bending these parts over the end faces of the roll in accordance with the pre-embossing.
The drawing shows an embodiment of a machine according to the invention: FIG. 1 is a side view of the entire machine, partly in section, FIG. 2 is a schematic side view of the device for producing the folds, FIG. 3 is a plan view of this device. 4 and 5 are schematic side views each of an embodiment of the device for bending the packaging paper at these folds. Fig. 6 shows a completed fold. Fig. 7 shows the bending device seen in the longitudinal direction of the machine, partly in section.
It is assumed that the paper rolls to be considered in the following are usually
EMI1.1
The paper roll to be packaged is placed axially parallel to the rollers 10 and 11 (FIG. 1).
Since the rollers are given unidirectional rotation in the usual way, the roller rotates in the opposite direction. The paper intended for packaging: 3, which is wound around the roll as a result of this rotation, is taken from a paper roll. those in one of the ones sitting on the frame
EMI1.2
of the roll to be wrapped protrudes about 250 mm beyond each end of this roll. After the outer surface of the paper roll has been wrapped with the desired number of wrapping paper layers, the wrapping paper is cut off in the vicinity of the roll and the end of the wrapped paper is glued together with the layer lying underneath.
In each mouth of the hollow core of the wrapped roll with wrapping paper, a conical wooden plug is then driven in, which is used to u the cylindrical shape of the role in bumps. like. aufreehtzuerhalten. The end faces are then covered with one or more paper disks, over which those parts of the wrapping paper are bent that protrude beyond the ends of the roll after the wrapping paper has been attached to the paper roll.
Such bending takes place by the rollers or cylinders designated in Fig. 1 and 2 with 1 and 2, which are each mounted on a special shaft and provided on their jacket surfaces with longitudinal and inclined ribs 5 and channels 6, which are arranged such that When the rollers turn, the ribs of one roller grip the grooves of the other roller. If a paper or other material is introduced between the two rollers (as indicated at 3 and 4 in FIG. 2), corresponding elevations and depressions 7, 8 and 9 (FIG. 3) arise in this paper, so that the material has a pronounced tendency to fold at the relevant points. At each end of the paper roll, the wrapping paper goes through such a pair of rollers 1, 2.
In Fig. 1, a pair of rollers 1, 2 is mounted in a frame above the rollers 10 and 11 so that they can be raised and lowered. In the rolls 1, 2, the ribs and grooves are laid with respect to distance and direction in such a way that the impressions they produce in the wrapping paper prepare the formation of the folds required to cover the ends of the roll.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The final bending takes place with the aid of the device shown in FIG. 4 or 5. Such a device is attached to each end of the roller and consists of one or more straight or curved arms 12 attached at one end to a hub 18 and at the other end to a ring 14
EMI2.1
seated wedge without tightening, which engages in a keyway 19 running in the shaft 15 in the required length, the transmission of the rotation to the shaft 15 and the longitudinal displacement of the shaft is made possible, the disk 16 being secured against lateral movement. The pulley 16 receives its drive from a countershaft 20, which in turn is driven by a belt from a
Electric motor 21 receives.
The wrapping paper is bent over in such a way that the paper roll in the state in which it is located after the partial covering described above is rolled out on rolls 22 (FIGS. 1 and 7). The rollers 22 are carried by a pneumatic lifting device 23.
As a result of the shape and position of the rollers 22, the paper roll assumes such a position that the extension of its axis after any necessary adjustment in the height direction with the aid of the movable part 24 of the lifting device coincides with the axis of the shaft 15, so that the paper roll in is centered with respect to the clincher.
During its rotation in one direction, as indicated by the arrows in FIGS. 4 and 5, the bending device tends, due to the shape and position of the arms 12, to remove the parts of the casing which come into contact with the arms 12 from the side to move towards the center point.
It follows that when the arms are moved one after the other during their rotation against the wrapping paper protruding beyond the end of the roll on the circumference of the paper roll, this paper is moved towards the center of the end face of the paper roll. The paper is then folded.
The resulting folds correspond in number, size and shape to the indentations that were previously produced by means of devices 1 and 2. The final appearance of the fold is shown in FIG. 6.
In order to hold the folds together, a circular paper disk provided with adhesive is pressed onto them. This pressing takes place with the aid of electrically heated iron plates 25 (FIG. 1), which receive the movement required for this purpose from a pneumatically driven piston which runs in the cylinder 26. The pressing plates 25, which attack the roller from opposite ends when pressed, are connected to the associated pistons by ball joints 27.
